There is no reason a cat should throw up after eating hard food. If you have eliminated logical issues such as;
Fur-balls which will come up as they are there (formed), unless you brush your cat, which will stop it taking so much hair in when cleaning itself,
Is it 1 type of hard food that causes vomiting? or any brand,? flavour could be an issue too but when using only hard foods, (assuming you mean dry), you MUST always provide .clean drinking water & lots of it. Cats drink a lot of water & need more with dry foods.
If you are not familiar with more seious indications GO TO A VET, your cat feels pain as you do & most countries have vets that will help even when you can't afford it.

Note things like;
Is there a brownish colour to it, which could indicate blood hence a liver or kidney, even spleen problem, or maybe a blockage;
Smell of the vomit is also indicative of certain things so Please I urge you, eliminate the food fussiness probasbilities ASAP & go to a vet.

Sounds like a hairball, or some kind of clog. Give laxatone, a cat medicine especially for that purpose. If she won't just lick it off your finger, smear it on her paw and she will lick it off. If a hairball is not the problem, this will not have any effect, nor will it harm the kitty. Next try feeding only small amounts at a time, or as someone else suggested, put a large rock or some such in the middle of the food bowl to make her eat slower. If none of these ideas help, you will need to call the vet, sometimes old kittys do that for other reasons.

Is she throwing up hairballs? If so then that is the problem, the dry food is scratching her throat and making her gag and then she just throws up the hairball. If not, try drizzling some Karo syrup over the dry food. It helps with an upset stomach and makes the food easier to digest. Not much, maybe a tablespoon full. The cat will like it and it can't hurt and might help.

My cat did that, and the vet said she was eating her food too fast. Her suggestion: try placing a rock or something similar size and weight in the food dish. This will force the cat to eat around it slowly, and usually fixes the problem. I used one the size of a tennis ball in an average size cat dish.

My kitty was the same way and did much better when we switched her to Science Diet Sensitive Stomach. All vomiting stopped from there. You can buy it online, at your local vet's office or at a pet supply store.

yes.... give it soft foods

that's an obvious answer but here's something else:
is it the same hard foods ur feeding her? maybe shes allergic to it

also, it may not even be food at all.... maybe your cat is sick, either way, take ur cat to the vet and see whats up.

You should feed her with wet food a couple of times to see if she still throws up. If she does, I would take it to the vet.

Give it soft food instead. It's stomach may be unable to digest hard food, so it throws it up instead.
