Jesus was a real man who was born in Bethelaham, located 6 miles S.W. of Jeruselam in the year 6BC. His Mother was Mary and His father was Joesuf! He was raised as a devoute Jew and adheared to all of the Jewish laws. He was circumsized (as required), instructed in the jewish faith, taught a trade and found a betrothed(Mary Magdelyn). He was the eldest son and had 4 brothers and at least 2 sisters. The Roman empire ruled that part of the country and many people did not like it . There were many rebels and teachers at that time and he was one of them. His phylosophy was unique about mans relationship to God. (son to Fatherand a all caring father that would grant anything to those who possessed enough faith. He was about 30 when he started his ministry and became convinced that he was the masiah. He knew from the teachings of issah that he would be put to death. He had the courage to go through with the profacy, and a new religion was born. Unfortunatly not the one he taught but a very corrupt form that was made worse when emporor constine (Roman) saw a vision and accepted christiananty as the official religion of Rome! They used many pagan hollidays and rituals to get converts and gain great power! Dec 25 is a pagan holliday, the tree is a pagan symbol, ect. Jesus said: seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all things will be delivered unto you! If you seek the truth, have an open mind and study all the religions for the true word of God is there to be found. With proper faith all things can be accomplished! As a Man thinkith so is He!

I beleive Jesus was a real historical person, but what he said and taught was a construct of the roman state run religion.

If Jesus's words are a construct, then it stands to reason that the entire NT is also a construct of the roman state run religion.

i keep hearing that there are non christian historians that KNOW that Jesus was an historical figure but no one seems to ever have any website that present the case that Jesus was an actual historical person.
Anything I have ever seen from both christian apologetics and atheist/agnostics shows me that it is most probabl;e that Jesus was based on earlier greek myths.(And they dont argue for an historical Jesus)
I wish someone would show me good argument that Jesus even existed. One of these modern non christian historians Names would be great. I am begining to think that is just a baseless claim that christians make "Even non christian HISTORIANS know jesus existed, they just dont believe he is divine'

Jesus Christ is a real historical figure. They found the scroll in the dead sea I think it was back in the 40's which talk about Jesus Christ. Look it up you will fine lots of information on him.

The first theologian to assert this claim was Bruno Bauer who tutored the teenage Karl Marx. Yet his views are still seen as radically deconstructive, as most historians believe Jesus did exist (apart from what claims are made about him).

The bible predates Christianity as a state religion, so it's not the latter.

I think it's likely that he was a real person, though not God or the messiah. However, there's really no proof.

There is non-religious proof that the historical Jesus existed and was crucified by the Romans.

There is no non-religious proof that he was divine.

the latter

jesus is a cult myth character. nothing more.

the small handful who claim they saw him 2000 years ago are not unlike the thousands of people today who claim to have seen Elvis -- many years after he died. their claims don't make it true! but hey, go chek your local Burger King just to make sure the King isn't hangin out there!!

He was "created" at the council of Nicea in 325'ad'.
A literary amalgam of two different people, his apotheosis by Emperor Constantine was the defining moment of this particular mythology.
