Ended 18 yr relationship this year. What does a 53 yr old man do amid such soltitude and lonliness?

I moved too far away to be with friends. Am a die hard surfer in good shape but not into clubs to socialize ?

I divorced about 25 years ago ,,,, can't even remember for sure ,,,, It's probably been longer than that but it really doesn't matter ,,,,, I never remarried and never will ,,,, Once was enough for me and my mother didn't raise no fools ,,, I've been alone all this time and that suits me fine ,,,, I've never gone out to bars or anything like that unless it was for just a couple of beers and a few games of pool once in a great while ,,,, I've never been into the club scene either ,,,, That's dangerous ground where hungry women on the prowel for a man is concerned ,,,, What I did was develop an interest in different things ,,,,, I do allot of reading ,,,,, My hobbies are fishing and golf and building model rail roads among other things ,,,,,I have a Sky Ranger air plane ,,,, I like to fly ,,,, Contrary to what allot of people think ,,,, you don't have to have another person around to be satisfied and also contrary to what allot of people say ,,, two people can't live as cheaply as one ,,,, How this works though depends on the individual ,,,, What works for me doesn't necessarily mean it will work for you ,,,,, Every one is different ,,,, You'll just have to figure out what fits you ,,,, Allot of it is just keeping your mind busy or focused on other things at first or for as long as it takes to not have these feelings of solitude or loneliness ,,,, Hell you can be standing in the middle of a crowd and have those feelings ,,,, Maybe what works for you is totally different from my solution ,,,, All I'm given you is just suggestions ,,,, You might even experience a few feelings of release or freedom now too which brings something else to mind ,,,, Now that you are free watch ouf for women that want to get their hooks in you ,,,, They all think that a man should be hog tied and strapped down ,,,, It seems that they can't stand to see a man single and free ,,,, The last thing you need right now is another relationship but they will try to snag you any way they can using all the wiles at their disposal ,,,,, They figure you are on the rebound and to them that makes you vulnerable and a perfect target ,,,, One thing you have to think about and consider is why are they on the loose ,,,,, Why aren't they tied down ,,,, There's got to be a reason for it and that's what you want to avoid ,,,, Don't find out what the reason is the hard way ,,,, I saw your question and could kind of relate to your situation so I thought I'd give you my suggestion to the solution you are trying to find ,,,, Good luck ,,,, Yoda told you this ,,,,,

I am sorry, curious why you ended your relationship of 18 years though. I've been there as well, 46 here. It's tough....keep yourself occupied with things that interest you. I wouldn't go looking for love anytime soon....I am an artist and I threw myself into my art work. Surfing works for you, of course you probably can't do that year round. Be patient. Sometimes the solitude can be a blessing.

Go to the beach and walk, surf, read or just enjoy the ocean. Make plans to take a vacation with a friend. Become a Mentor. There are so many opportunities for you, take advantage of your freedom and enjoy it!!

Sounds like you are athletic and like the outdoors. Find a social group that enjoys similar activities and there are bound to be women there. It may be harder to meet people in your age group, but it will happen. Relax. Don't be in any rush, but do stay engaged in the process.

meet yourself a little surfer girl in her 20's and have some fun w/ her for a while... young girls like older guys... Teach her some surfing tricks and you'll have her in the sack in no time.

do what we all do when we get older and all of our friends are married, take up golf. to be good at golf, like you apparently are at surfing, will take up many hours of your time and on the plus side of it, you will meet many new friends.
