First of all, you are too young to get a tattoo. No decent artist will touch you, even if you have parental consent. And at 15 you aren't exactly thinking about what you're going to want 10 years down the road.

Second of all, if you have to ask if you should get a tattoo from perfect strangers, then no, you should not. And this is coming from someone with 2 tattoos.

Wait until you are legally old enough to even think about getting one, and then really think long and hard before you do it. It's not something that can be easily undone.

At 15 I wanted a lot of things and if I would've gotten the tattoo i wanted then I think I'd regret it now. and on your hip? Yeah its gonna hurt! If its what you really want and your irresponsible mother is gonna let you, then go ahead but get a small one for your first tattoo! And light pink will fade so you'll probably have to get it redone every so often. Tattoos can be a maintenance thing... and dont forget getting it on your hip how gross that'll look stretched all out if you have a baby someday... Just some thoughts you might want to go over before making your final decision.. and if you decide to go take a few Motrin (ibuprofen) about 30 minutes before your appointment and it will dull the pain!

sure, if you really want it you should get it, it's not like where you put it is going to always be visible like if you got a tattoo on your wrist hand or neck, and tattoos are a great subculture and it always gives you something to talk about. The people who tell you that you will regret it are probably people who regret never getting one themselves, it's your body, you shouldn't regret something on it, if you end up not liking your tattoo in the future the plus side is that you can always add more and retouch a tattoo. 2 years ago I got a star just like yours on my arm, I didn't like it recently so I retouched it and added to it and now I'm happy with it again. as for the pain, I personally like the pain durring a tattoo, the fatter the skin that is getting tattooed the more the area will hurt. the pain will go away soon and after getting a tattoo you can't even remember the pain. go ahead and get one, 100% of the places you can go for a tattoo are clean and safe, you shouldn't have a problem.

Actually, I believe everyone I know (outside family) has them. Some were mistakes (such as a guys name) and some were for personal reasons. A star actually is cute. Personally, you're young and I do realize it is the popular thing right now...still, you need to give it a heck of a lot of thought. This will be on you forever. Having it lasered off is really expensive and probably not a fun thing. You have so much time ahead of you to get one, why not wait?
How much it hurts will depend on your pain tolerance, the tattoo artist, the size, etc...

NO... If I was your mother I would not allow you to get a tattoo at all.. What is your mom thinking? Your too young to make a decision of a star because it will be permanent. that means you could be 82 years old and have this same star and be totally sick of it. Your mind and opinions will change over the next 30-40 years and you will one day be sorry. Plus all the permanent ink and dye going into your blood stream can be controversial if there are cancer causing agents.. My vote is NO..Tell your mom

I would say that you need to think about how that is going to look if/when you have children. Parts of your body stretch and may not go back to what it was before. Till then it might be a cute little piece of ink on your skin, but after, it may look distorted and possibly ugly. You are 15, and I say wait a few years before getting a tattoo. You may change your mind a year from now, or you might not. You won't loose anything by waiting.

You better make sure that you really want it cause you cant change your mind later. But it doesn't hurt that bad, it kind of feels like a cat scratch its just when they go over the same area with color or whatever it hurts a little more because its already sore. Its like scrapping a cut. And its sore and tender for a little while after but it doesn't take that long to heal.

legally im pretty sure you cant get a tattoo. so unless ur mom is planning on taking u to someone who is not licensed and might give you some nasty disease its probably a good idea to wait. the main thing to consider is at 15 ur body has not finished growing and while it might be on ur hip now it might end up being halfway under ur boob by the time ur 20. as "cool" as it might sound to have one, you will almost definately regret it later when it looks like crap. wait til ur old enough to go on ur own and then take ur mom with you.

All I could say is that your tat should be something that you will wear with pride. You said that you are 15 now and a tat is a pretty tight thing to get. But will you still be proud of it when you are 45? I have some tats and I am proud of them all. I hope that this helps you make your mind up.

Good luck and take care.

If you're asking other people if you should get one, then don't. I always wanted a tattoo growing up and I'll tell you what...by the time I got one at 27 I'd changed my mind a hundred times with what I wanted. I decided after a couple of years wanting the same thing. I'm not saying you have to wait until you're my age, but something that's permanent and you're questioning it tells me you should put it off.

P.S. I don't think, even with your mum's permisson, you can get a tattoo at 15.
