Why are Americans being blamed?
We don't hang people.

America is being blamed because America appears to be the governing force in Iraq right now. America went in there looking for WMDs and a connection to 9/11 - found neither, but the leader has been in US custody for 3 years and the US was sure to have him executed before the newly elected members of the House and Senate could pull us out of there. If Iraq had waited to execute Saddam until after the US left, then it would look like Iraq did it themselves - but this way it looks like the US did it.

Peace!

We hanged Nazi war criminals after WW II.

Anyway, American responsibility in this matter is indirect. I think it's made more indirect by the fact that the Iraqi government was democratically elected. Yes, there's a civil war going on, but neither side has been democratically elected, so... I think the legitimacy of the execution's cause being placed directly on the Iraqi government is basically correct.

There are other instances where it's grey, but more black than white.

I heard from news reports that not one single American was present at the execution. However, since some are calling it an unfair trial by the Iraqis, I'm sure the Americans will be blamed.

technically american's didn't hang Saddam, and Iraqi government should be the only one to blame, but americans has the power to impose it. nobody can freely protest because the land is controlled by american soldiers, the iraqi government is formed by the help of americans, so people in power in iraq government owes it to americans. its possibility that there has been an arrangement to judge him to his country so no other countries be blamed. its been strategically planned.

imagine, how can the most powerful person in iraq be judged by its own court, its been overpowered by a more powerful body- it didn't show in the iraqi people but the Americans.
no matter how he became a president, the government or the iraqi people let it happen. its their President!
its true he killed lots of people, he's been judged by a more powerful body but who's going to judge that said body when it acted wrongfully? how many people died in these wars? compare it against saddam has killed. who tells right from wrong? on whose standards?

America is being blamed cause we took Saddam out of power and brought him back to USA,To waste several dollars on treating him with best health care to be hung by IRAQ
They Iraq are the ones responsible for hanging him.
USA are responsible for taking him out of power.

Rest of world uses this as a excuse for their terrorist acts that are wrong and try to
justify them by saying it was USA fault.OH WELL SADDAM IS GONE ! 1 less evil in world, 1 step closer to peaceful world, so say what you want, but justice has been done by IRAQ with USA help. good job

Yes, it was the Iraqis that hanged Saddam.

Just a bunch of blithering idiots wanting to claim America did it.

You are correct. We don't hang people and we didn't hang him. American authorities handed Saddam Hussein over to Iraqi officials just prior to his execution.
