Nothing at all

It is important to believe in God because that's how most everyone was brought up to believe that It just keeps you on the
straight and narrow and makes you a better person if you go to church. I've heard that scientists do not believe
in God. They believe in the Big Bang Theory that God simply had
nothing but nothing to do with that because that comes under the heading of science and astronomy. They are not stupid! People with a genius IQ question God. They are not stupid.

There is really nothing wrong with being an atheist for some
people as they don't need a God to be a good, decent, loving
human being.

There's also nothing wrong or stupid with being an agnostic,
meaning you believe in the Supreme Being but do not practice any traditional religion, church, temple etc. I think it's the religious fanatics we should watch out for.Look what's going on in Iraq!! Being a person of good character who treats others as he or she would want to be treated is more important than anything I can think of and that includes believing in God. That's my opinion.....

Well, what makes you ask that question? The wording suggests that you think there IS something stupid about atheism or that someone has told you it is stupid. Let me tell you this: atheism is not stupid. Atheism has strong foundations and I can see why many people chose to follow it. But, as a christian, I consider it wrong. Please understand that by wrong I DO NOT mean stupid. I can FULLY understand why you would chose atheism but I can also FULLY understand why someone wouldn't. Imyself chose the latter. If you really want me to pick faults then i will (eg, How would you explain 'miracles'? What about the telelogical argument?) But I can also pick faults with my own faith (Why are prayers sometimes not answered? What about natural disasters?) but I guess it comes down to blind faith. That is the faith we have in something without and convincing evidence or strong foundation. It's the kind of faith some people have in God, it's the kind of faith some people have in the non-existance of God.

Please don't think that your 'religion' (of a kind) is stupid. It's not.

You're not stupid. There are highly intelligent people, believers and unbelievers alike, both in the science arena and outside of it.

However, you maybe the most intelligent person around, but in God's eyes you are a fool, as only a fool says in his own heart "There is no God". For the evidence around is clear enough for one to consider the idea of design, that one would have to blind themselves.

You look around, and I gather you see the marvels of evolution?, a believer looks around and see the marvels of intelligent design.

The foolishness of atheism, is because there are top scientists who have discovered under their microscopes the undeniable intelligence of design and have HAD to either force themselves to continue the lie of denying this, or to admit and become a creationist. Gary Parker is one such top evolution scientist and there are many more that have followed. Don't kid yourself into believing that all top scientists are genius atheists! Far from the truth. However, they do have the sway within the school curriculum and those that do not believe likewise, are ousted. Many science teachers either take onboard the evolution theory and teach it as scientific fact, or they lose their job.

An atheist will always call a believer dumb, they will always use insults, because their hatred is so great, as it puts their own theories in doubt, which means there is the chance that all of us maybe accountable to an eternal God. This again, is unthinkable to an atheist, who must cling to his theory of evolution above all things, even if they see ANY evidence of a possible design, they cannot conceiveably allow this to enter their mind.

You are not stupid, but neither is a believer. One has to look at the evidence and come to their own conclusions. Again, there are top scientists who are a mix of atheists and believers, these men are both extremely intelligent in their field of science.

The chances of their being a designer are enough to cause a person to consider the possibilty of an afterlife, even if he were to say "I do not want to consider this, it is not part of my mindset, nor is it part of science". Evolution is not part of science, how many times do I have to emphasise the word "theory?". A theory is not a fact, it is an assumption of what "might" have occured, man's "idea", nothing more and nothing proven and belongs in the religious studies class, along with Christianity. But they are so arrogant, that they decide their theories are scientific and ours are clueless. You tell me where the science is in believing that all things came into being from an explosion?

The fossil record should be absolutely overwhelmed with so many proofs of evolution, that they should have an entire museum devoted to it alone with REAL bones. Considering they tell us the world is billions of years old, it should be a graveyard of fossils of one kind clearly becoming another. The desperation to call everything evolution has becoming so blatant, that they will go so far as to call variation within a species "evolution".

I have no problem with religion being kept out of the science room, if they wish to have no atom of creationism taught, that is fine. Why then do they take it upon themselves to continue indoctrinating kids with evolution? Surely science should be taught as it is, science/fact, all possibilities or assumptions are just an opinion and if that is allowed, then opinions on intelligent design should also be allowed.

THe prospect of their being an intelligent designer is not from the mindless dullards of society, and some of the atheists on here obviously are not aware of the scientists who on both sides of this issue and debate about this to this day.

So if there is that chance, then a person may have to consider the possibility of having a soul....

The stupid thing would be to put others down for believing in God. I dont' think that is right or fair to discriminate anyone beliefs. As long as an atheist knows that others do and will continue to always have their own religion, then they are ok to believe what they want as long as they are truly comfortable with the outcome of their decision to be that.

if you thought it through and are rebelling for your own reasons other that following the crowd that there is nothing "stupid" about it. Stupid is claiming you stand for something that you know nothing about,I personally know a lot of people of claim to be of God who are stupid. If you are an atheist that's okay.....you side with evolution than go research the theory thoroughly and if you are still convinced that there is no higher power than you are a smart atheist....

There's nothing stupid about it. It just doesn't mean that you're going to heaven and it means I feel sorry for you and wish that you could see the light of God. And I don't want anyone making rude comments either about this. I respect my opinion and you better respect mine.

Have a nice day =]]

The stupidity of atheism is that you must have "all-knowledge" to believe that a Supreme Being can't exist. And, as there is no-one on the planet that has "all-knowledge" (even Einstein calculated our knowledge at less than 10% - and that was probably a little generous) then believing that a God can't exist in the 90%+ that we don't know, is stupid.

Your experience with death is morbid. You will cease to exist when you die and you will never exist again - that's a horrible feeling. When a close friend or relative dies, you will have no justification for their death. More crimes will occur in society since not everyone is privileged and there is no sin so if you have only one life, why not live it to the fullest, even if that means stealing?

That is what is wrong with atheism.

Ummm, well, there's... no.
Oh, yeah... nope, not that either...

Okay, you got me, I can't come up with anything. I'm of the opinion that there is a God, but none of us can really know who's right and who's wrong until the game's over, can we?

Peace, and Happy New Year.
