Panda Inn - No WAY!
PF Changs - American food masquerading as Chinese food.

Forget those places! You wont see Chinese people eat at Panda Inn or PF Changs.

Best Chinese Food Restaurants in San Diego
1. Pearl Chinese - even though seafood, they have plenty of non-seafood dishes that are excellent. Expensive and closed on Saturday nights for weddings.

2. Silver Ark Chinese BBQ - in Mira Mesa. 8993 Mira Mesa Blvd in the Rite Aid Shopping center just west of the post office. Better prices than Pearl but less atmosphere. You must try the Beef Chow Fun, Pork Chops with Salt & Pepper. A lot of chinese people eat here and is a true testament to the authenticity of their food.

P F Chang's is the best I've had in San Diego, for sit-down food. The Chow Fun is fabulous!

If you're looking for a lunch-time take-out place, try Little Chef in Ocean Beach, on Newport Avenue. The portions are HUGE, the prices rock-bottom. Two people really can share any entre. And each comes with a little egg roll and an irresistable cream cheese wonton.

If you enjoy eating at PF Chang's, there's another place in Coronado called Bistro D'Asia. Every time I have guests in town, I take them there for the duck. They make a pretty good production of it.

If you're looking for Dim Sum, try Jasmine. They have locations in Kearney Mesa and El Cajon.

We loved China Fun on Carmel Mountain Rd. Great seaweed salad and my husband always ordered sweet and sour chicken or orange sesame chicken. Also, good egg rolls. Inexpensive and fast service.
