in the wild budgies flock in their thousands. as long as there isn't a female there two males usually make good companions. it's highly recommended that they are kept at least in pairs. a lone bird will suffer from undue stress and so in truth by keeping him on his own you're being rather cruel. i would suggest partitioning the cage when first introducing the new bird however. all animals need a chance to get used to each other and bond, especially in such a small space as a bird cage.

They shouldn't fight. But, it depends on whether or not you've "bonded" with your budgie or not. Sometimes, if you haven't tamed them yet, and you still wish to, bringing in another bird would mean that they would become bonded with eachother, and then, not with you. Also, make sure that your cage is big enough. Two budgies, though small, each need their own space, and even then they can be a little territorial.

budgies live in huge flocks together, they're not made to be alone, but like people they have their preferences, some they get on with, others they dont. Best if for a little while, you put them in seperate cages next to each other so they get used to each other first before putting them together in one cage. Give it a go, and good luck.

I dont think it would be a problem, but introduce them slowly perhaps in separate cages for a week or so, until the get used to each other then try letting them out together for a fly round the room. I'm sure they will love the company.

It's a great idea. Budgies are natural flock animals, so they do not belong alone. I have two males and they're great together. When one died, the other was extremely depressed. Once I adopted him a new buddy, he perked up again. www.petfinder.com often has budgies for adoption since people buy them cheap and then abandon them when they realise they actually require work and are noisy animals.

I think budgies naturally flock together. I wouldn't think it would be a problem, but would probably get a female to add to his cage. Make sure the cage is larger to accomodate the new bird.

i'm not so specific approximately that. I had a parakeet and we concept he became getting lonely. So we've been given yet another chook and the 1st on began being teritorial. as quickly as they flew away, I have been given 2 extra birds. Then I have been given 2 extra birds for a birthday contemporary. the two different birds did not recommendations. i think of the 1st one became being teritorial as a results of fact he became lonely. It became kinda one on one. So he concept he would desire to "bully". And that sprakler dude mentioned that what the heck is a budgie.....it somewhat is kinda dumb as a results of fact all and sundry comprehend wut a budgie is

yes my mam has had budgies as long as i can remember and she always puts a pair together as they like company you are better getting a female the wont breed unless you put a nesting box in so don't worry about that put the new bird in a cage directly at side ov other for first 24 hours as it helps them get to know each other without risk ov fighting if they are OK together put them in together

OH YES! I know from EXPERIENCE! LOLZ! I have 2 parakeets and 2 cockatiels! Ask me ANYTHING you want! LOLZ! Okay, I still have my budgie, Jibber, and Pickey died 2 X-mas's ago, and after that, Jibber got old and lonly! He used to race up the stairs with Pickey(Hop from one step to the next like a running up stairs race). But wwhen Pickey died, he lost everything! He was sad and he never ran up the staris since! lolz. Soo..... Then, we got another budgie names Scooter. Jibber was confused at first. "Why is there another budge here??? HUH?" Jibber prbably thought, but now, he's racing up the stairs like a pro! Before, Jibber and Pickey were VERY close (sbout to have babies, kinda close). Now, Scooter and Jibber are best friends!

yes i think it's a great idea. I had a budgie for about 8 months , it was on it's own and looking lonely so i bought another male for him and he really perked up and now he is full of life and i can actually see his character.
