My family says stuff about me having 2 kids! Me and my husband can support them, they are equally loved and we can actually handle them. Im not sure why people are like that. I say, have has many as you want as long as you can provide for them! I would have 2 more if I could afford it. I think some people just have kids by not protecting themselves (not wearing Condoms) and not taking care of themselves, live on Welfare and foodstamps and being content with that. Nothing wrong with Welfare and Foodstamps, but if you keep on popping out babies and not trying to better yourself, that is wrong, why have babies if you cant handle yourself?!

When i was 18,I did not want any kids. I was an only child, and I LOVED it! My daughter,i had when I was 21,was an only and loved it too. Then I was pressured to have kids by my church, the LDS,and so i had been a newlywed, and had three kids by the time I was married for 6 years. I love my kids, and even had to place one,and I miss her,but to answer the question: I say we should be responsible and have only what you and hubby can support. I see so many ppl with lots of kids and the kids are either abused, neglected,or both,or unhappy in some way. Nor are they properly cared for.I have three,17,9,4,and do not want any more even there are those who pressure me to have more. I had plans for my life, and when I married, they went to hell in a handbasket, because the Church wanted me to have several kids, even though most of my babies have heart defects when they are born. I left said Church and never went back. Sometimes,"onlies" are spoiled, rude and just plain a pain in the @$$. I speak from experience. ( I am spoiled and can be rude and I will not comment on the last part of my statement!) If one can support them, fine, but alot of ppl can't support the ones they have. I am on welfare, food stamps and we do ok. I also have plans to go to nursing school,as I have been a stay at home mom for the last 17 years. ( that is all I know, how to be a wife and mommy) So,that said,if you can support them, have them within reason, but think of their future. What if u die? Hubby dies and leaves you to care for 8 kids? What then?

Dunno. And everytime I hear the world is overpopulated I just want to laugh. My body, my marriage, our choices. If my husband is willing to co-parent lots of babies, I'm more than ready to pop them out! It seems like only the Catholics, Blacks, and Hispanics are having big families nowdays. I'm white and the vast majority of whites I know think 2 is plenty, and they must be 1 boy and 1 girl. Its silly. My parents generation had lots of kids. I want my children to know the love and closeness a big family brings. Of course they'll be the crazy relatives, but even that can be interesting. We are planning our fourth and people look at me like I'm nuts. If we have the van, the space, the paycheck to cover another kid, why is it some strangers business? Income tax only credits for the first 3, so its not more money. I love my kids, I love watching them grow. If I have a buring desire to have as many as my husband will let me, then its not anyone elses' call.

I agree with you 100%. As long as the couple love and are good to their children AND can afford them, who are we to say anything? Those kids are our future. I think that when ppl hear of ppl having more than one child they think OH GREAT more for us taxpayers to pay for. Or great, more kids abused. For those type of parents, or the ppl just having kids cause they are dumb and do not care about protection or thier childrens futures...they should NOT have kids. To the rest of us who love children and can afford them...the more the merrier I say!

you said it, as long as you have the means and the love to support them there is no reason not to have as many as you want.
