I run a day care and have kids afterschool in this same age group. I find crafts or easy coloring projects are great for this age. Kids like to see thier artworks displayed and seeing a finished project is rewarding. Have a coloring contest. Draw a squiggly line on paper and have them draw something using the line as part of the drawing. See how they can incorporate your beginning of a drawing into something they create. Make puppets out of paper bags. Nothing to tricky or complicated. Have them read stories to you or make up a story that you begin to tell and give them a chance to expand on the story by adding thier own details. Play school, with them spelling words or doing simple math problems. There is a lot at this age to keep them busy, however the most succesful way to keep them occupied happily is to have direct involvement and interaction WITH them. Have fun!!!

If you're babysitting right now...GET OFF OF THE COMPUTER. The two month old should mostly sleep. Otherwise, you won't have much time for the 7 and 5 year olds. Little kids like to draw, color, have books read to them, play games, watch cartoons, help make a snack. They should have lots of stuff to do if they are at their own home. If they are coming to your home and Mom and Dad have any sense, they will bring their favorite things with them.

Well the five year old is welcome to anything you can provide her with. She would just most likely want attention. Make up a game between all three of you to play ring aroung the rosie. To make it even more creative play a game where you have to find a certain color in the room. Whatever you do don't freak out. These kids would probably most of the time be sleeping.

Art and craft hunt
then art and craft :)

get them to go round the house finding old toilet roll tubes and ribbon and bits and pieces that are not needed for anything
recycle
they will have heaps of fun gluing bits together and colouring paper to stick on
just be sure to put down newspaper or something on the floor table or area you're going to be using

The kids might have a game like Candyland or Mousetrap. You can put together puzzles. Just keep any small peices away from the infant.

Videos, popcorn, or maybe pizza would help keep them busy. You might bring over cookies and let them decorate them.

New Years .. uhhh I would suggest just lettin those older ones have a good time in wantin to do what they want to do but not too loud indisturbing that infant. They can all sleep late so just entertain them as in movies.. play hide in go seek.. do whatever they want. This is their night let em have a ball.. pillow fights or what ever. This too shalll pass.

If you have access to some craft supplies you might be able to do some of these great New Year's Eve Crafts:

Or you could color some coloring pages:

Hide and seek is always fun - so is find the thing (hide something - anything that you all agree upon) and let them find it. I see a color is fun too (I see a color and it's red - and then they guess to find out what red thing you were thinking of).

Peace!

well that is the perfect age for board games see if they have any. other then that just let them do what they usually do. keep them on the same thing and they won't miss mom and dad so much. good luck oh and if the baby starts to fuss and feeding and changing does not work try to find one of mommys shirt and drap it on the baby. the smell of her mommy will help calm her. good luck and happy new year.

Give them some easy books to read, let them watch a kiddy movie like Finding Nemo, or Lion King 1 and a half or something like that.
