Wow, I don't know if you are American or what but I wonder at the state of the educational system in our country. You need a subject to your question... For example: Is it more cost effective for me to wash my car at home or at the car wash? or Does the car wash waste water just so we can drive around in clean cars?
Do you get the point? Ask a question or learn english and THEN ask a question. You have people answering your question in a variety of ways because you are incoherent.

The car wash is NOT as waste of resources - it is probably as eco-friendly (if not more so) than washing it at home.
The water used in nearly all of the closed systems is 70% to 90% re-used after high pressure filtering as the opacity is monitored - minimal 'fresh' water is added to the system to maintain adequate water clarity.
What IS wasteful is washing it at home for an hour with the hose running.

The car wash is THE coolest invention ever! I don't have a car, but a bike, and I have been considering going through the carwash on my bike for a few years now. Hmm... maybe a good thing to do for 2007!

I don't believe it is a waste of resources and I use them occasionally, rather that than have a dirty car
