AVI problem?

I'm trying to play an AVI format movie in windows media player but it sais it cant read the file. How do i fix this problem?

It could be that the file has been corrupted, try playing the file in Real Player (or if you don't have that try another one, BTW Real Player is a free download http://www.real.com ) If a second player will not play the file either then it is a safe bet the file is no good. i use VLC media player for AVI files
