Hello,
I am a die hard conservative...and even i say that this is going to be one HELL of a tough fight! The war overseas will rage for years to come, with only two possible climaxes:
1) We are successful and go home w/ a sense of security, accomplishment, and pride!
2) We give up or are beaton, and leave the region to it's own devices like we did w/ Vietnam.
Hope that this has taugh everybody something about politics...thanks and God bless!

Very hard to find real winners in Iraq.
The Kurds may be able to retain their territory but must avoid a two front war with Turkey and whoever succeds in controlling Central Iraq.
Southern Iraq will probably come under Iranian influence.
Under the barbarism of Saddam most of the best and brightest needed to lead the government and economy of Iraq were killed or became refugees.
The war in Iraq is now clearly a civil war with the primary fighting between Sunni and Shiite factions.
Saddam enlisted the Sunni minority to suppress the nation.
The Shiites want revenge.
Iran provides material support to the Shiites. Iran is the most powerful country in the region. So the Shiites will probably gain control of Southern Iraq.
The Sunnis have an ally in Syria but it is not a powerful country. The greatest number of all Iraqi refugees have fled to Syria. This influx of hundreds of thousands has put a tremendous strain on their economy. Its doubtful that Syrian support will allow the Sunnis to consolidate Central Iraq into an area of true control.
The most likely scenario is a divided Iraq under Iranian influence.
So, I suppose the answer to who wins is Iran.

U.S. will win the war if the correct leadership and strategy is in place. U.S. troops can't stand around like sitting ducks, the reason deaths have increased. There must be a better defensive tactic to protect troops and offensive tactic of propaganda to show Iraq that we desire the same goals as their citizens. It's best for the military to build up forts and replace their missions with native Iraqis, supporting by the National-Union, populist party-http://www.voteprimous.com

After America eventually cuts their losses and leaves Iraq there will be a huge civil war. Who prevails? Probably a dictator worse than Saddam.

No one wins when you've been close to a carbomb going off or a suicide killer walking into a crowded spot dressed as a woman and being lucky to remain uninjured!
