Eight years difference in ages is of little or no concern after both parties are over 21. However, if you are under legal age, then you should wait until you are independent enough to make your own living and your own decisions and to live with the various consequences of adult decision making (age 21). "Really cute" does not qualify this man as boyfriend material. If he has not shown any interest in being socially involved with you as a friend and you are at least 18 years old, this relationship does not offer much promise for the future. Telling a man your feelings who does not share the same feelings for you, may scare him away from you completely. Continue to be friendly, but keep your options open until you meet someone who is really interested in you. Best wishes.

As long as it's legal it's fine. It's a very long process to get over a longtime crush, but you will never be completely over him til you start dating other guys.
What you could do first, is write him a letter. Sounds cheesy, right?
Well, it actually helps. On that letter, confess everything -- how you feel about him, how he makes you feel, etc. It is very refreshing to do that, and if you were to tell him how you feel for him, it wouldn't be very difficult because you explained it already in your letter. Just organize the letter, so that the thoughts would be smooth, and not jumping from one to another.
I think you should tell him how you feel. Yes, you may regret it. But it will feel lie a huge, heavy weight has been taking off of you. It will also make it easier to move on to other guys.
Good luck! Hope this helps.

If you are 18 or over then go for it. If not then don't bother with it you could end up in a bad situation before being done with high school like pregnant or him in jail for being with a minor. Age is not important (unless your a minor) so make your best judgement.

I am thinking you are still in school?? and is he?? its hard to say what to do so I am assuming that just with the age difference it would be better to remain friends until adulthood is reached--fair enough??

If the age difference does not matter to you or your family maybe you should let him know your feelings for him....

An eight year difference is nothing, really. Go ahead and tell him how you feel.
