Here are my top 5 kid friendly recipes:
Pita Pizza's- You can set up a bar and even have them make a variety of faces.
Grill Cheese Cut-Outs: Use a cookie cutter to make mini grill cheeses or baby sandwiches with whatever you like in the middle.
Stirfry- Get some thinkly sliced chicken, beef, or shrimp. Have each kid add their own sauce --you can find the pre-bottled kind--sweet and sour, teriyaki, etc. Since the meat is so thin it will cook and minutes and they can have their own healthy stirfry. You can make the rice.
Nacho Bar: Refried beans, tomatoes, lettuce, onion, sourcream, chips, tortillas, and other toppings can be a great way to get kids involved. Have them make their own mexican meal.
Fondue-It: Melt down some velveta and basically clean out your fridge. Bread, veggies, and other things can make a fun fondue party. They can do all the prep work and use skewers as a dipping stick.

Chicken nuggets and fries! I believe all kids like nuggets unless they are taught to be vegetarians by their parents. Just in case, make some salad too, with cucumbers and tomatoes and maybe some peppers too. Avoid putting feta cheese in it, some kids hate feta. You can have some on the side. Nuggets are great though. Maybe a potato salad or egg salad. I know macaroni and cheese is a hit among many kids. Kids love it with hot dogs in it. Or cook up some hot dogs and warm up some buns. Spinach dip is delicious and healthy, high in vitamins. Just put out some veggies and dip. Don't forget the cherry tomatoes!

I cook with my 12 year old niece and we make all kinds of things. One thing that sounds hard, but really isn't is enchilladas. Cook the meat, and shred it with your kids. Have them help you roll them up in the flour tortillas, have them help you put the sauce and cheese on them, and the oven does the rest of the work.

Try easy finger foods. Chips and dip, Veggies and dip, ect. And if your inclined to serve dinner, try chicken strips or burgures and hot dogs, if you dont really know the children your cooking for, its always easier to stay safe, and keep it simple.
