I think you need to go for a more formal approach in apologizing. Make sure you think about all the people who were affected by your behavior that night and send them each an apology letter and be specific about how it affected them. This will likely be different for different members of your family...
For instance in your nieces case you should say something about how you are sorry about ruining her perfect day while you may need to include something about embarassing your mother or father when writing to your parents.
make sure you include everything that you need to, to make a proper apology.
* give a detailed account of the offence behavior
* acknowledge the hurt or damage done
* take responsibility...no ifs, ands, or buts
* recognize your role
* tell them how much you regret things
* ask to be forgiven
* promises it won't happen again

Wow, why didn't the Bartender cut you off??? And most importantly why didn't you do this yourself? I would make a face to face apology to the Bride and Groom for ruining their day and then talk with the rest of the people you upset. Making an fool out of yourself at any kind of party is unacceptable....there are always consequences as you found out....and let's not forget that people don't usually throw a party just for you to have a wild time, there are other guests that they wanted to entertain. Be strong and face the music, Good Luck and Behave next time around or they'll stop the invitation's!

Have you done this before? If it is the first time then you are entitled to make a mistake with your judgement especially if you were drunk. However if this has happened many times before then what you have is probably a drinking problem and your family is sick of making excuses for you behaviour and very tired of your actions. The only way to show you are sorry is to seek treatment for you alcoholism Call AA in the phone book and talk to someone with this organization and they will be able to help you know for sure if you are an alcoholic. The only way you can prove you are truly sorry is to try and turn you life around and act responsibly. Alcoholism is a disease that can be treated but you have to make the first step towards getting better. Good luck to you.

Ah, welcome to the world of family, liquor and get togethers. Look every one makes mistakes and you weren't the first person to ever make a fool of themselves and you certainly won't be the last. The best way to apologize is calling those closest to you and saying what is really in your heart. You are so sorry because.......... and you realize it now after you had time to sober up and think about what happened and reassure them that it will never happen again. If you need to apologize to others but can't or won't make a phone call, send them a note. As long as it comes from your heart, people should forgive and forget.

well you can tell them that i was very happy and excited that day so i did the mistake but now you realise your mistake and you are really sorry for that. you can look in their eyes with polite manner / a faith in your voice ask them to foregive you and assure them it won't happen again. its simple but it works.lol
