In Africa, whatever their region provides in the way of game and agriculture.

In the U.S. South:
Tomatoes, greens, corn, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and other vegetables; corn bread, biscuits, and rice; fish, chicken, pork variety meats, raccoon, opossum; fruit pies and sweet potato pie; dark cakes.

In the U.S. Delta South (Lousiana):
Everything as above plus waterfowl, shrimp, and crayfish.

Note: Many of the southern dishes were eaten by both black and white people.

(The question is about "traditional" diet, not what people eat now. There's nothing necessarily racist about it; we all know black people were enslaved in the U.S. for a long time, and their diets were different from their white masters'.)

There is no one traditional diet. It all depends on where the person is from, what their family foodways consist of, and their own personal preferences.

Same as any other group of people, no matter what their skin color is.

Traditionally, the food of Africa uses a combination of locally available fruits, grains, and vegetables, milk and meat products.

In some parts of Africa, the traditional African diet has a predominance of milk, curd, and whey.

In much of tropical Africa however, cow's milk is rare and cannot be produced locally (owing to various diseases that affect livestock).

Yet, differences, sometimes significant, are noticeable in the eating and drinking habits across the continent of Africa - African food differs in different parts of Africa, and East Africa, North Africa, West Africa, Southern Africa and Central Africa each have their own distinctive foods.

Pizza! america'smost popular food. Other than that, you will have to find a traditional black person. Let me know if you find one. Last time I looked, traditions come from culture, not skin color

Your an idiot. Okay, lets say all Asians eat rice, that's it rice.
All white people eat white bread and mayonnaise and twinkies.
a little balona.
All Mexicans eat bean burritos and enchiladas, tortillas and salsa.
All Italians eat spaghetti and pizza.
French eat snails.
Arabs eat lentils and flat bread.
Hebrews eat matza ball soup.
In China they eat cats and dogs. And chow mein.
Louisianna they eat clawfish and shrimp.
Black people eat fried chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy.
This is just about the worst case of sterotypeing I have ever seen.
In school I found out that no one is everybody.
As a red headed little Irish girl eating peanut butter and jelly sandwitches, I saw a little girl eating a bean burrito. She was hiding it behind a napkin. I thought because she didn't want to have to share. Until one day she said she was ashamed.
We traded lunch sacks, it didn't bother me a bit to eat a bean burrito. Her mother was a great cook.
She probably had to do that because of people like you.

Traditional Black People? I'm not sure there is such a thing. I don't think there's a traditional white person diet either. We have become so diversified that traditional no longer exists.

You are stupid and so is every other racist mother****** who answered this question. I'm going to play nice because I want to keep my answer PG but black people eat the same things every other race eat. For everyone who supplied the fried chicken comments I have something all of you can EAT!

Fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, (yum), por chops, greens (collards, turnips & mustards), candied yams, corn bread. I venture out quite a bit (luv Martha) but believe me, one of those items is at the Sunday dinner table all across black America!

The same types of food all the rest of us Americans eat. Our separate families do have our favorite foods also.Theirs would be the same - each family has their own.
