In Luke a man asks Christ who is my neighbor.
Luke 10:25-37
Then Christ gives a parable about a man who went from Jerusalem to Jericho.
Thieves rob him and leave him for dead.
Later three men come along but only one helps him.
Then Christ asks which one was this mans neighbor.
The one who shewed mercy.
That is compassion or loving kindness.
Not everyone is your neighbor.
2/3 don't care about anything but themselves.
There are levels of love.
There is tough love.
There is a spectrum of love.
At one end very little.
At the other end very much.
When Christ teaches love,
he wants us to remain on the spectrum of love.

Jesus also said:
6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. Matthew 24:6-7
True Christ followers attempt to love everyone. I follow Christ, but it's not always easy. What the Bible says is God's will. What we live is what we choose.

Because people suck. We all fail at following the perfect guidelines laid out for us. We may succeed here and there, but I think more often than not we revert to our selfish mode and think only of our own comfort. That is the essence of the sinful nature, we are selfish. Mother Theresa actually lived out the love your neighbor command to the fullest. She was an awesome woman of God.

Because most people, including most Christians, do not even read their Bible, let alone live it. The greatest single cause of atheism is Christians, who confess Jesus with their lips, and walk out the door, and deny him by their lifestyle.

lucifer wants you to hate your neighbor because if he can get you to hate and not love then he has gotcha. God has no place in heaven for hatered,if you want to know why lucifer does this he is pissed at God for kicking him out of heaven and the only way he can get back at him is to take as many of God's children as possible. the children being you and me.

Because they didn't believe, they didn't understand, they didn't care.
However, in this age of human matirity, this lesson of selfless love is taught, learned and practiced throughout the world. We will soon enjoy the Golden Age.

Because we have been taught intolerance since we were born. Everyone wants to be right about religion, politics etc. and no one is willing to listen with an open heart and mind.
