What is he into? Find out what he loves. If he is into sports go to a sports themed store and buy his favorite team parphinalia..etc..
Does he like to read and drink coffee. Buy him a coffee gift set from starbucks with a gift card in it to buy a book..etc..
Whatever his likes are find it out..ask him, use hints and just listen.
