its not.
it is important that you Theists understand thjat everyone has their own beleif and that your particular beleif, while it may be true for you, may not be true for everyone.
its your insistence that you are 100% correct that causes people like me to com out and start debating you.
many atheists are bothered by the 'superiority' complex that many christians (and other theists ) have. that bothers us.
this is our planet too. we live here. we are not governed by your dogma. therefore keep your religion to yourself.

Lol this is funny.. I'm not a christian or an atheist so I can speak from a neutral corner and say that there has never been an atheist (and I know A LOT of them) who has told me "You're stupid for believing what you believe", and they've never tried to make me a "non-believer" in my faith or called me an evil satan-worshipper or tell me that I'm going to some eternal torment if I believe in what I believe.. but, wait, then again..
I've never tried to make them believe that my way is the only way and that they had to convert to my belief or be killed, harassed, tortured, ex-patriated, et al...That's strictly a christian thing.
Just check this Yahoo site.. see how much atheist "witnessing" goes on versus christian "witnessing'.. they have no mandate telling them to go forth and preach their gospel (good news).
The only time I see an atheist get their dander up is when they see blatant lying or ignorance by christians who spout off on things that it's obvious they've never studied or even begin to understand.

The search for truth is always important, and atheist probably don't want people forcing Christianity down THEIR throat. I have never had an atheist knock on my door trying to "spread the word of No God", I have had Christians knock on my door trying to spread the word of God" though.

Here is a quote that might make you understand;
"Not only is there nothing to be gained by believing a lie, but there is everything to lose when we sacrifice the indispensable tool of reason on the altar of superstition".
get it now? Religion is the single most destructive force on earth. More people have died and more misery has been spread because of the intellectual cowardice called religion.

I am a nonbeliever. but I also do not believe in atheist either. I believe in a creature that for lack of a word to call them............! the humans are still in a barbaric stage of need to worship some thing they can not explain. in that sense they can put the blame on this belief and still be able to function in society & still maintain their sanity. until their is more evidence to prove one way or another i will hold onto the beief that there is something out there!

If all religions could be satisfied with keeping their beliefs to themselves, and to be happy that they themselves are living as they believe god wants them to live, I don't think you'd see this new wave of intellectual atheism, that does, I admit, seem to be a lot more on the offensive than it has in the past. But Christians are NOT keeping their views to themselves anymore. So many of them are trying to carry their religion into the political realm. They would like to outlaw abortion. based on a religious belief with no scientific basis that life begins at the moment of conception. They would like to ban stem cell research, one of the most amazing medical breakthroughs of our time which has the potential to save thousands of peoples lives and end so much suffering. They would like to (and ARE) preventing gay people from marrying the person they love, thereby denying their families the same security and benefits that they enjoy in their own marriages.
What choice are atheists left with, other than to desperately try to help you see that you're arguments are illogical and ridiculous, and have begun to become dangerous to our country and it's non-christian citizens. I for one do not fancy having to live my life according to a ridiculous book that's been mangled and revised for thousands of years. Keep your superstitions and dogma where they belong, in your own home- and I for one will have no reason to bother you.

Atheists, in my experience, are usually tolerant of the beliefs of others. Unfortunately the same is rarely true in reverse. I feel that everyone should be free to believe in what they want as long as they do not harm others in the process or attempt to convert them.

It makes them feel better about their own denial. They think God will grade on a curve and if they can convince more and more people to not believe, they may make the cut on judgement day. God made the proof of Himself clear to all, but some, by their foolishness and stubborn pride try to deny Him.

Does anybody else think that this person is being a tadge racist asking all these questions having a dig at Atheists? If i, as an atheist, started asking questions contradicting and having a go at christians, i would surely be reprimanded by Yahoo! Answers as being racist.
Just one last thing: Who gives a flying F.UCK??

I've never seen Atheists send out missionaries to convert people. Christians (and others) are still trying to 'force feed' their religion all over the world.

I don't mind if they believe in God. But when they give me idiotic excuses for Jesus' failed predictions, for example, that doesn't please me a whole lot.
Jesus said some of his listeners would still be alive when certain predictions come to pass, and he was quite specific; but they didn't come to pass in those people's lifetime -- and church people's excuses and distortions of Bible references, merely to justify the words of Jesus, I call it idiotic and sad.
Church people can believe what they want, just don't think I'm believing your idiotic explanations of dumb stories, such as the story of Aaron's rod turning into a snake and eating Pharaoh's servants' snakes.
Church people's minds are pathetic.
