Firstly, I will say that I disagree with what HOW you want to lose 25 pounds, but I understand that you want to make a change and if you are overweight you definately should do SOMETHING to make your life healthier.

That being said, each pound of fat contains approximately 3500 calories. So 25 pounds contains 87,500 calories. Your body, if your metabolism is healthy, burns about 10 calories per pound per day. So if you are weighing in at 150 pounds thats 1500 calories burnt per day. If you exercise that also goes on there and it'll increase that 10 to a 12 if you have high metabolism.

If you eat 500 calories per day, and your body uses 1500 calories per day, you will have a net loss of 1000 calories per day. It will thusly take you ~88 days, or about 3 months to lose 25 pounds. Losing 1000 calories a day will result in you losing about 2 pounds per week.

Again, I would recomend against you starving yourself. Not just for health reasons, but for weight loss reasons as well. If you dont eat enough your body will shutdown and your metabolism will drop to 8 calories per pound per day and it will slow down your weight loss! What you want to do is still eat 1000 calories a day, but do a little jogging to keep your metabolism high and to burn extra calories.

Keep in mind that working out (especially doing crunches and things) tightens your stomach and makes it smaller, so you eat less.

Dont over do it, if you're trying to lose calories to be healthy then be HEALTHY not stupid. Good luck!

Edit- Drink -LOTS- of water. 2 liters a day minimum. SERIOUSLY. It'll help you lose weight AND its healthy.

Edit #2- I'd stay away from diet pills if I were you. I tried some, they turned out to contain 75mg of caffeine per pill, the directions on the bottle said to take 6 pills over the course of each day. 75mg of caffeine is the same amount found in a can of Red Bull. I couldn't sleep, not to mention my heart was beating like a hummingbird ALL DAY. If you think it'll help, take one or two in the morning so it wears off by the time you go to bed, but I'd recomend against even that.

It will actually take you longer to lose weight ingesting only 500 calories a day than if you ate a healthy amount of healthful food each day of 1200-1500 calories (say 5 or 6 small meals at 250-300) calories each) because your body will slow its metabolism at being undernourished and will react as though it is being starved and will force itself to hold on to each and every calorie consumed and store it as fat.

And then, when you do lose the weight and start eating normally again, your body will then hold on to every calorie and you will not only gain back all the weight you lost, you will actually gain MORE!

Whereas if you eat several small meals per day you fuel calorie consumption, along with regular exercise and strength training with weights to build muscle, which in turns burns more calories, not only during exercise but at rest as well, which gives you a better chance of not gaining the weight back even if you "treat yourself" to junk food once in awhile!

Weight benefit / loss is a contest between what share energy you consume and how many energy you burn. in case you take up greater beneficial than you're burning, you will in all possibility benefit weight. in case you pick for to lose 25 pounds over 2 months, self-discipline your self into eating much less or eating low calorie meals like culmination, greens and protein, and stay faraway from processed products. integrate a healthful nutrition plan with workout for the main suitable consequences. artwork our usually, attempt to pass out for an hour long motorbike journey an afternoon. regardless of in case you do no longer lose the 25 pounds, you will benefit muscle mass, which will help burn energy in the long-term, and you will experience so lots greater effectual. on condition that greater muscle mass consumes greater energy, evaluate doing different workouts so strengthen muscle mass thorough your physique and not in basic terms your legs and back.

Why should anyone answer a question like this, encouraging unhealthy behavior? Besides, the answer is not easy. It assumes you will be able to survive on 500 calories and maintain your current level of activity. But your metabolism will slow down to preserve calorie consumption because it realizes the body is starving. Your body will do what is necessary to try and save itself, and if your metabolism slows down, you will burn fewer calories and you will not have any energy. Without enough nutrients you could lose your hair and you will be susceptible to diseases because your immune system will be compromised.

If your goal is to look like a skeleton, you're heading in the right direction.

Aside from being unhealthy, it's *impossible*. If you eat only 500 calories a day your body will slow down its metabolism and all you can loose is in the first 2-3 days.

If I knew your current weight and how much calories you ate a day I could give you a better answer. I know of some things that can make you lose weight, flax seed oil and cran-water. Those two work wonders!! Just take 2 tablespoons of flax seed oil a day, and 8 glasses of cran-water... these both help break down fat, and cran-water gets rid of cellulite too! also, every morning drink a hot cup of water with a half of a lemons juice in it before you eat or anything, i forgot what it does but it helps a lot too!!

You loose 1lb for each deficiency of 4000 cal. So if you burn 1500 per day and only take in 500, you will loose 1 lb every 4 days.
