Hi Leta...anytime a cat's behaviour drastically changes and ceases to eat, drink or use the bathroom it requires a visit to the veterinary hospital to be evaluated. Antibiotics are used for various infections and should never be administered without the advice of a veterinarian as each type of antibiotic cures DIFFERENT types of infections--no two are alike. Additionally, old antibiotics should be discarded after finishing treatment. By giving the old antibiotics it also opens the risk of making your kitten's body resistent to treatment with other helpful antibiotics or the risk of becoming more sick as well.

Yes your cat needs to see a vet as soon as possible. Most vets will work with you on bill payment arrangements, if the bill is a bit more than expected. She may simply have hairball issues that are causing her constipation, it could be her diet (which needs to be a steady constant) Brand switching, table foods, too many cat treats are not good! Stick to a no to low ash diet such as Iams, since high ash can cause urinary tract infections in felines. She might also be going through her changes (which generally in a day or two after the first change in personality happens) Can change to a moody, growling, very vocal!!! temperamental female cat, and often with her back-end in air, kneeding the floor with her hind legs... So if that follows, then she is going into heat and if not spayed will continue this behavior once, sometimes twice a month. It usually passes within 4 to 5 days. BUT PLEASE take her to a vet as soon as possible, because there could be more serious things wrong, better safe than sorry. Good luck! If you can't get her to a vet right away a few safe things to try at home that may cure the problem (Just in case)
If she has not used her litterbox (no bowel movements) it could be constipation.. BE SURE to change and clean her litterbox completey as cats often will become self constipated rather than use a slightly odored box,... Next in a small saucer give her some oil from a can of tuna, if you do do not have any tuna, you can mix 1 teaspoon of butter or vegetable oil into a half cup of her regular food, this will add a lubricant to her digestive system and will aid in clearing any blockage she may have such as hairballs or (pine needles, tinsel) from the X-Mas tree.. After Christmas constipation in pets is quite common due to nibbling on the tree and ornaments.

sounds like a blockage of some sort, maybe a bad hairball, take her to the vet, any time an animal is lethargic or changes noticably in a short time does not bode well, if she is very fluffy this could be a problem that will reappear, look into a hairball control dried food for her, and when she has recovered from this trouble make sure she gets cod liver oil every day, it will help the condition of her coat, and keep things moving for her.

I suggest taking your cat to the vet as soon as possible. A drastic change in activity and personality would cause me concern. I would not advise giving antibiotics in this case, because it's really not known what the problem is. The vet should examine her first and determine the course of medication. Good luck.

Take her to the vet asap but in the mean time try this............warm some milk up to a tepid temperature and flavour it with a tiny bit of honey or a small half a teaspoon of sugar. This will give her a little bit of glucose to use as energy until you get her to the vets. I don't think your cat will be able to have normal antibiotics yet as she is still a baby. I hope she gets well soon

take her to the vets immediately. She sounds like she probably has some type of virus or infection. If she hasn't been going to the litterbox, I would seriously call into your vet as an emergency since it is New Years and their offices are most likely closed. Watch her every move to make sure she isn't in pain or anything like that. But take her to the vet as soon as you possibly can. Try to bottle feed her with water or kitten's milk and she what she does.
I hope your kitten feels better.

Check the kittens gums and whites of eyes for discoloration. If she can't stand up and it cold, weak etc it could be a sign of kidney failure, poisions etc. Don't feed antibiotics unless you have taken her to the vet and it was what he gave her. If it is poision the antibiotics won't help, and could make the issue worse.
