Weight lifting both causes increased muscle mass, and also stimulates larger bones with increased density.

You are at the best age to start body building to have the greatest impact life-long (two years seems to be the typical length it takes though for a slender guy to turn into being well defined and toned... its worth it even for the health benefits)

Dude, you're 16. You've still got like 5 years before you're done with puberty. Dont sweat it!

If you want to look more muscular in the shoulder region, I'd say the easiest thing is to do wide pushups. Instead of putting your arms straight out in front of you when you do the push up, put your hands out much wider (take a look at the link, there is a picture 3/4th down the page). This will concentrate the work into your chest and shoulders more than your arms and will help build muscle there and widen you out a bit.

Good luck, dont work too hard, you have a long way to go before you're full grown. hah!

I don't know if it's possible to get wider shoulders, but I do know that upper body exercises, like weights will tone you and your new muscles will make your shoulders look wider.

Talk with a coach about an exercise routine to build your chest and arms. Don't worry about being a little skinny: You'll fill out in time.

Join a competitive swim team and train hard. Swimmers are CUT! Even the girls get broad shoulders.

No. Your body frame will never change. You can get defined or bigger shoulders through resistance training, but you will never be able to change your bone structure. (without surgery that is) Sorry dude. I suppose you can buy shoulder pads if you get desperate:)

Exercise of the upper torso, like arm curls, arm and neck rotations, push ups, etc.

I dunno about actually changing you bone structure, but you could definitely wear different shirts. Some have a slightly different cut that will make your shoulders look broader and more filled out. Good Luck!!

Wait! You're still so young, it might change over time.
