i have a Super le Tour and the old wheels are 27 1/4'' and i need a new wheel set

You may have a problem with the brakes. The rim diameter may be to small for the brake pads to reach the rim properly. Check with your local shop.

Nope.

I had an old Schwinn Varsity. Heavy as hell (steel wheels). I wouldn't recommend getting 700c wheels for that bike, you'll need to get adapters for the brake calipers. You might as well buy a new bike, or get a cheap secondhand bike from EBay or Craigslist.

The new 700c wheels will cost more than the bike is worth...Might want to check into a used road bike...

They should be OK with minor adjustments, if any. The tires off the 27" won't fit, but the tubes are interchangeable.
