without a grill >>> or a grill rack....How can I get "grilled shirmp" on my stove top>

This recipe below allows you to use a cast iron skillet for preparing the shrimp. One can avoid the seasoning and use only 2 teaspoons of oil in the pan. You might like the second recipe as well.

You would have to sear them. Use a cast iron (black) skillet. Do not use oil, just lightly wet the shrimp and throw them in the pan, with a little seasongs to your taste and let them sear, which means burn just a little. You will hear a little searing sound. Turn them over, depending on how large they are..for med, sear 10-15 minutes. Thats really the best you can do with out a grill, but a grill would be better.

If you have a grill pan - I have one that is cast iron and has the grill ridges in the bottom

Just heat the pan, spry in some non-stick cooking spray, and add the shrimp - cook about 3 minutes on one side and two on the other - or until both sides are pink-orange in color - if they are this color sooner, quick cooking

get some metal coat hangers and a pair of pliers...... bend and twist and cut until you have a grill rack. go outside and make a fire on the ground.
