Alzheimers is a neurodegenerative disease which has a gradual onset and is typically not reversable.

Bipolar disorder involves mood swings between severe depression and severe mania. While in a depressive period, one may have difficulty getting out of bed, taking care of one's personal hygiene, and just getting through the day; while in a manic phase, one may not sleep for days, spend too much money, and generally make bad and impulsive decisions. It is treatable and can be controlled with appropriate medications and psychotherapy.

Scitmo is not a disorder. Are you talking about schizo, as in schizophrenia? If so, this is a disorder in which one loses touch with reality. There are a number of subtypes - paranoid, delusional, disorganized, catatonic (rare because of advances in medications), residual, and undifferentiated. This is a difficult disorder to treat but can be managed with medication and therapy.

The first is Alzeheimer degenerative; schizo is controversy; some chiropractors are treating it by keeping the spine in alignment but meds are needed and bi polar-you have maniac episodes that the older you get the closer together and more severe the manias-meds are needed along with therapy and patient has to understand when to get help. All three are different. Alzeheimers has stages over a period of years at getting worse/the person forgets, goes back in years, gets combative, needs lots of care...

Wow,what a complicated question! Briefly,Alzheimer's disease is basically a "Organic" degeneration of the brain, lack of proper blood supply, many other diseases and conditions may cause this. Its progressive and can't be cured. Bi Polar or Manic Depression illnesses, are conditions where you have violent mood swings in cycles, very very happy or profound sadness and depression. Lithium is help full to manage the swings. Schizophrenia is condition that's has many many forms, the main symptoms include delusions and hallucinations ,loss of contact with reality. Alzheimers is a totally different disease that usually affects older people and slowly robs them of their identity. Schizophrenia and bipolar diagnoses are often used interchangeably, along with Manic Depressive illness. It usually affects younger people and doesn't steal your memory, but can cause you to act erratically. Neither can be cured, but both can be helped with medication. With Alzheimers it only slows the process. Taking the correct medication with Schizo or Bipolar can control the behavior and allow you to lead a normal life, though it may not work for all and sometimes meds need to be changed.

Alzheimer's is a degenerative disease in the brain. There is no cure, although there are treatments to slow the symptoms.

Bi-Polar disease and schizophrenia (I assume you mean that) are controllable with medication.
