If you are married on December 31, you will have to either file as married filing joint, or married filing separately. Your filing status is determined on the last day of the year. You cannot opt to file under your old status of head of household, regardless of how short of a period you were married.
With regards to your job, your filing status affects your withholding, but only if you want to. Just because you are married, does not mean that your withholding has to be based on married. You can always leave your withholding as single, or head of household. Any difference in withholding will be accounted for when you file your tax return.

Changing your W-4 will change the amount that's taken out of your paycheck - do that sometime soon but don't worry about getting it done before the end of the year.
When you file this year, you're right, you'll file as married rather than head of household.

you can wait till after this tax season it it was recently. if you are going to file a joint return with your husband, have your tax preparer do them both ways to see which way is going to save you more money, they will usually offer to do this for you at no added charge, then you can decide how you want to file. you should change your w-4 at work when you change your name at work. you can choose the best # of deductions for your situation, i used married but withholding at the single rate so when we filed jointly we would not have to pay any tax in, they take out more during the year but in the long run it was worth it because we ended getting a little back instead of having to pay in.

He can take each and every of the itemized to offset his earnings or supply you with purely adequate of the deductions to "0 OUT" your tax if any and decrease his tax criminal duty in the previous subtractions---notably... puzzled??? hi as quickly as you calm down this 365 days to DO your taxes, this is purely not so complicated-and in spite of if this is, there is often H & R Block... yet once you're making much less then $sixty 5,000 entire, this is not nicely worth going to a place like H & R Block......
