Go to a younger bar instead of the British Legion club.

Hugh Elvis - hmmmm, I can't tell by your name if you are a guy or a gal, and since you don't post a profile, there is no way of knowing.
If you are a guy - get some help - you don't want to end up like Ted Haggard, the preacher who was dethroned for his homosexual affair.
If you are a gal - what's so unusual? Relationship experts say its OK to date a person about 8 years apart either direction.

Well, none of us here are psychologists - so my suggestion is just to find another bar to frequent. It sounds like this bar is not the best; you're too good to be seen in that dive. If it happens in the second one, then you need to look into your actions and conversations. Good luck in the meantime. Or are they just being friendly to a cute young fellow who is a grandson figure? And in that case you should be kind to them - you are fulfilling a gap in their life. We can be friends of all ages.

If chatting you up is a crime in a club, then you shouldn't be in a club. These places have age limits for a reason.
I was chatted up by older woman once, huge complement, and remember, beauty is more than skin deep.

I don't know why that happens but I figure if I just hang around and wait I'll get old myself and then I'll understand the need to make an **** of myself chatting up younger women.
Happy new year!

it only happens because you let it and to a degree invite it. do you stand at the bar looking lonely then wonder why the next man on his feet offers to treat you to a drink.
it could even be that older guys think you are advertising yourself, depends a lot on how you dress. think about it. do you stand under a green light or a red one?

How much older ? Pensioners ?
Nothing wrong with an older guy trying his luck. :p If your not interested just make it clear - preferably in a non-heart-ripping-out way. :) HNY 2007. :p

Something about you is screaming "victim". Predators are very tuned in to that. I would suggest some therapy to help you become more assertive.
