None of that stuff in the grocery store that claims to be bacon has much relation to the real thing. Do you mean Bacon - or that stuff in the store.
When I was growing up we always cured our own bacon and after 24 years away in the city, I am out in the stix eating REAL home cured bacon again.
That stuff in the store has as much relation to bacon as those plastic tomatos have to a real one.

My favorite sandwich is bacon and peanut butter with lettuce on toasted bread.
Once for our science fiction convention a friend of mine got me 30 pounds of turkey bacon. We went through an entire roll of paper towels cooking all this bacon to feed people at the convention using the microwave. It was yummy!
True story.

The first time I ate bacon, and my last:
My older sister was eating it and I was staring.
"What is dat?" I asked, my voice still developing.
"Bacon..." My sister answered with my mouth filled with the stuff.
My mom entered the kitchen.
"Sweetie, would you like some bacon?" My mother asked me as she stroked my bedhead hair.
"Ya!" I answered with much enthusiasm.
My mother gave me a plate with several slices of bacon.
I bit into it, it felt chewy and kind of yummy, but there was something different about it.
"(my sis's name), what is bacon?" I asked my sister with a full mouth.
"Pig fat." She said blankly as she stuffed more into her mouth. Grease glistened on the sides of her mouth.
I stared at her. I stared for several minutes, with the pig fat getting uncomfortabley moist in my mouth.
"What's wrong? It is delicious!" My sister asked me as she wiped her mouth with a pink floral napkin.
"Pig...fat...You mean from a pig? That fat of a pig?" I asked, not being able to even chew the food.
"Pig fat is fat from a pig, that isn't hard to understand. Are you going to eat yours?"
I stared in horror and threw up the bacon into the sink. It ended up clogging the garbage disposal.
To make it worse, my sister made me do her chore by washing the dishes, which meant washing all the grease and gunk.
I ended up getting the flu the next day, too!
Never eaten bacon since...

Bacon is delicious. When I ate bacon I used to only eat the read part so my parent told me that I shoulda ate ham instead.

My first time eating bacon whas when I was three. My parents took us to this restaurant, and they gave me a slice. I chewed on it, but there was a fatty piece, and it got caught in my throat. I started to choke and couldn't breathe. My dad had to turn me upside down and slap me on the back to get it out. I then threw up all over the table. Needless to say, they didn't give me bacon for a while.

Love bacon. As a kid on Sundays my parents would take my brothers and I to a resturant that had a Sunday brunch, and we would do that for lunch after church, and they had lots of bacon, and I'd take lots of it.
Now a days, I love bacon on burgers, especially with breakfast, like with eggs and hashbrowns.
