The greenish gray color around the yolk is caused be the egg being overcooked. It is perfectly safe to eat.

The gray ring around the yolk simply means that the egg was overcooked. Not harmful at all! Enjoy your eggs!

Yes it's safe. I don't know why but the yolks do turn that grayish color sometimes. Maybe it has something to do with how fresh the egg is when you boil it.?.

That gray color lets you know that the egg was a wee bit overboiled. It's probably safer that way, come to think about it.

After you cook them try running them under cold water for a while this should stop the gray colouring.

Yep! My daughter and I color easter eggs every year and after we're done we turn them into pickled eggs aka red beet eggs. Yummy!
