1. Eat more often - six times a day or more. Regular intake of food will raise your metabolic rate and you will burn off calories faster. (If you eat only once or twice a day, your body drops the metabolic rate in between the meals.)
2. Eat lots of vegetables and fresh fruit, avoid processed stuff.
3. Eat EXACTLY like you will eat after your diet is over. There is no 'after' the diet.
4. Forget about April 25. Just do healthy stuff and don't pressure yourself.
5. Aim to live healthy, not lose weight. You can live healthy tomorrow, but you never know exactly how your weight will change... With a healthy lifestyle your weight will go down.
6. Food is good. It is not the enemy. Eat whatever you like, but eat it slowly sitting down at the dinner table. Notice the food you are eating and how it makes you feel.
7. Starving yourself is bad. Weird diets like Atkins are bad. See point 5.

We all know that exercise and reformed eating habits are crucial to losing weight and getting healthy. However, the way we exercise and when we eat are equally vital. For instance, when planning on doing cardio workouts, it is best to do them in the mornings before you eat your first meal. It has to do with insulin levels affecting the way your body burns cals and fat. Also, combining some strength training with exercises like pilates is better than strength training alone because pilates allows the muscles to lenthen and appear trimmer while improving balance. The ammount of water a person drinks also has a huge effect on a person's weight, especially if you minimize or cut out the soda you drink. There have also been a lot of studies that show people who drink regular soda vs. diet soda are typically thinner, unless the sugar directly affects you. (if you are like me, once you eat sugar you are done for a few hours untill you wake up from a nap) Well, hope some of that helps. Personally I would pay 100.00 a few times over just to lose 50lbs. I gained around 55 lbs with my baby and he's almost 2yrs. When I follow common sense and take time for myself I can lose some weight but it doesnt stay off for long with our crazy lifestyles and lack of food sense.

50 pounds in that short amount of time is not a healthy way to lose weight. It is probably doable on the Atkins diet but I really don't know how it works exactly but you can buy a book that tells you everything you need to know to do it. A healthier alternative ( an easier in my opinion to stick with) is the weight watchers plan. You are allowed a certain amount of points per day based on your weight. It allows you to eat healthier than the atkins does. If you want to have a cheeseburger on weight watchers you still can.... you just have to calculate your points and etc for the day. Another plan that I know works is the nutrisystem. It is expensive to buy all the food but they tell you exactly what to eat and when to eat it. I don't know how quickly it takes the weight off people though. Hope this helps you a little.

First week : Only eat meat, green veggies, lots of dairy (NO CARBS) no bread, pasta sweets
Second week: still eat lots of non fatty meat green veggies dairy and some fruit like oranges, grapefruit no sweet but you an eat good carbs like wholegrain but not a lot.
Keep with this and each week you can add on more and more carbs but only the good ones
NO: sweets, pop, sugar nothing like that
Also make sure you have at least 20-30 min of exercise a day running is the best

Watch what you eat isn't enough if you have to lose 50# in four months... get a nutritionalist to help you design a diet that works for your lifestyle and body type. I know that's not the answer you want, but it's a solution that really does work. They're available in most every major city and will help you manage your way to your goal as fast as healthily possible.
My wife got one last summer and went from a size 14 down to a size 6 (She's 5'9") in 5 months. Plus she did it without killing herself or endangering her vital organs with some crash diet.
Good luck.

No more than 2 lbs a week, cut out fried foods, and sodas. don't eat after 4 pm (if you can) exercise to a dvd work out program every day. I do the Chris Freytag (Prevention) walk the weight off video. You do walking exercises that are not going to strain you. (then move on to more firming exercises from Prevention, and Chris Freytag after you get use to exercising again.) ask your dr before you start anywork out program. Start out slow. Buy the 100 calorie sweets if you like sweets, drink the coke zero (no calories) if you must have soda. eat foods with wheat crusts like pizza and wheat pasta, that helps move the food through your body. Put fibersure on your food to help too. I'm on a diet, but I eat things like chicken, salads, pork chops, (only white meat) don't starve yourself or deprive yourself, just eat in moderation. It takes time, but if you take it one day at a time you will do fine.

Just eat healthy; fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, low fat dairy. Drink water. Exercise and take a multi-vitamin daily. And, you may loose; 50 lbs in 4 months is probably not healthy. You'll end up gaining it back. Lose the bet, but gain health.

the best thing to do is stay away from foods high in starches and carbs like pasta, bread and that stuff. you can have it just not too much. then try doing six small meals a day like a health shake in the morning yogurt or fruit for a snake then like a small meal for lunch a fruit or jello for snake then something small for dinner then a jello or fruit for a snake before bed. i did this and it helped me loss 20 pounds in like a month. and don't forget to do exercise like running, fast Pace walking, have a dog take it for a long walk each day, or join a gym. OK that's all i did. best of luck

I really recommend Weight Watchers. You may not lose 50 in three months but you will be healthier. You need a support group and the tools to become a healthy eater, its easy to lose but the key is to learn how to eat for the rest of your life.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!
