After you blow dry your hair using the hot air, you are supposed to cool down your hair using the cold air button. The cold air helps seal the hair cuticles and makes your hair less frizzy.
Hot air helps to create a style while cold air "sets it" to help maintain the life of the hair design.

The Cold Air button is to set a hair style. If you use hairspray, the cold air button will dry the hairspray without making it clumpy and sticky (like hot air would).

If you have naturally curly hair, it is recommended that you use cool air to dry your hair with a diffuser. It prevents fuzzy little hairs, but takes a long time to dry!! If you have straight hair, and are using a round brush in your hair, you can use hot to curl and then blast cool air at the brush to help the curl set. One should wait until all curls are cool before touching. This cool shot button quickens the process.

the cold air setting on your hairdryer sets your hair if you are using a round brush to make it wavy. what you do is concentrate some heat on your already dry hair while its wrapped around the brush, and then hold down the cold air button to set the curl.
also, cold air and water make the cuticle lay flatter, making it shinier and smoother.

cold air "sets" the hair after you are done blow drying on hot or medium and u wanna "lock" your style especially when your using a round brush u use the cold air button and it makes the curl/ wavy stay. cold air just like cool water makes the hair follicles close and makes your hair look shiny and healthy.

The cold air doesn't damage your hair as much, but it takes A LOT longer to dry. If you are using the hair dryer to style your hair, you're better off using hot.

You have hot for drying, and cold for Styling, a lot of people just use hot for everything, but cold drying is better for your hair it takes a little longer but it works.

The cold air is suppose to be used to 'set' the style.
Say you are styling your hair to turn under at the ends.....you blow dry it on hot then zap it with 'cold' to set the style.
Same with lifting your hair for body. Hot, then sap with cold.

if u use the cool air button it takes a little longer to dry your hair, but you do see results. it doesn't cause as much hair damage as hot air does and your hair will seem a lot smoother after using that to dry your hair instead of using hot air. i like it, it works a lot better!!

It should be blowing cold air--thats what mine does.
it probably didn't look like it did anything because cold air takes soooo much longerrr to dry hair with!!
ha, its kinda a useless button, but whatver, i usually just stick with the hot air.
