Besides mininites not using electricity and all of that sort of thing what is the difference between the way Church of Christ (non-denominatonal) believes and the way mininites believe. I know we both don't believe in playing music in church, but that's all I really know in the differences.

Thanks!

We don't believe in playing instruments in church because in the New Testament the BIble doesn't tell us to. It tells us to sing with melody in our hearts. We feel it would be adding to God's word if we played instruments therefore teaching false doctorine.

Okay, my question wasn't "Am I really a denomination?" The Church of Christ tries to do exactly what the bible says. We do not add or take away like some other churches do. That's why the Church of Christ is referred to be "the church". Please just answer the question about the difference between mininites if you know the answer. Not trying to be rude. Thanks!

How can you say that the Church of Christ is non-denominational? It is a denomination, just as Methodists, Catholics, Baptists, UCC, and Presbyterians are denominations. Just because you don't have a president or national headquarters, there is a structure, seminaries, and a theological core that is different from other denominations.

Mennonites (note spelling) are from a German tradition, along with the Amish. They do not necessarily shun playing music in church, but they are very involved in community service and the peace movement.

There are several different branches of Mennonites ranging from very conservative to very liberal (e.g., allowing homosexual membership).

I don't understand no music in Church when clearly most of the Psalms were meant to be played by the musicians in court. King David expressly wrote them for the stringed instruments or a certain type. Why no music I wonder?
