I don't know what you have tried so far, but here are come suggestions I know of for breaking this habit successfully. First of all, there are several bitter concoctions you can paint on your nails so you are reminded when you put it in your mouth not to bit. Once that I kow of is called Control-It. Also, it sometimes helps if you put gum or hard candy in your mouth , Then, get a manicure. They are inexpensive and it will also help encourage you not to bite. It is important to keep your hands away from fyour face, for example, resting your chin in your hands because your fingers WILL sneak in there when you are not thinking about it. And, be sure to use an emery board to keep nails smooth so you are not tempted to nibble on a rough edge. When you have successfully mastered this habit, and I know you will, remember NOT to let your guard down. Some say "once a biter, always a biter". I don't know about that, but it is important to stay aware so you don't pick the habit up again once you have broken it. Good luck!

I've been having that problem as long as I can remeber and I've tried to stop over and over and failed but in the past month I've decided I was going to make myself and force myself not to bite my nails. It's hard but try doing something that will keep you from biting them that's what I do. I also tear my hand away from my mouth when it comes to my mouth. You got to force yourself to stop and it'll happen also if you believe in prayer you could ask God for help he'll give you strength.

get a manicure, even if you're a man, if your nails are filed down nicely and cuticles are clean, you won't want to bite them. if that still doesn't work, they have stuff in the nail polish aisle specifically for it, makes them taste not so good.
