If you are in college and have been dating this guy for 5 years, then you have 'probably' not dated a whole lot of other young men. It is rather telling that the guy is not gone yet and you are thinking of accepting a date with someone else. I think you are probably hoping that we will all say to find someone else - aren't you? If that is what you are really hoping that everyone will say, then that is what your heart is telling you to do. If you really love this guy then time will tell and you will end up together again.

You should give the relationship a chance and try to keep it good with him being so far. Although, its not going to be easy, especially if both of you are going to be busy with school and such. Its not impossible but if you two really care about each other, it will work out.
Dont start looking for other options but it seems that if you really did want to make the realtionship work out, you wouldnt be considering to go out with another guy already.Just my 2 cents on it.

My husband and I dated for 3 years and then we did a long distance relationship for 3 years before we got married. I thank that a long distance relationship either kills you or makes you stronger. Communication is key to any good relationship and a long distance relationship forces you to communicate. Give the long distance relationship a shot and if it works it works. You have to honestly try for it to work however.

hypothetically it can, but really no.
you cant keep tabs on him and he cant keep tabs on you.
its like you see a guy, your boyfriend is not even in the city, so why not fool around a little. probably more likely for a guy to do this than for a girl i suppose. and, communication is usuallyl bad.....i would advise against it...ive tried. and you never know what is going on with the other.

No. Only if you can spell it correctly and not use run-on sentences...
