I just connected a new NEC 19" flat panel monitor. Firefox insists on coming up in the minimize mode. How can I get it to come up maximized to fill the entire viewing window?

Grab the title bar at the top, and move the top left corner to the top left corner of your screen. THEN grab the bottom right corner of the Window and move that, which resizes the window, to the bottom right corner of the screen. So now it does not matter if it is Maximized, or normal.

Use FireFox for all of your general surfing. Use Internet Explorer only on trused websites, or those that require ActiveX.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

You can try one or both of these:

Exit Firefox completely and then start it in safe mode. A window called Firefox Safe Mode with some troubleshooting options will appear. Select the option "Reset toolbars and controls" and choose "Make Changes and Restart".

Exit Firefox completely and then open the profile folder and delete the file "localstore.rdf". Make sure to delete the "localstore.rdf" file in the profile folder, not any in other locations such as under "Program Files

Click on the maximize button (immediately to the left of the red X button) and then exit the Firefox process (ctrl+alt+del, click processes, find firefox.exe and exit it). If this doesn't work, you could try playing around with the screen resolution (right click on empty spot on desktop, click properties, click settings, play around with screen resolution.) Hope this helps.

?? I don't get it? Does firefox actually pops up a dialogue that says "use minimuzed mode"? That never happened to me...quite a mystery.

I don't think it's your monitor's fault, but I think it has something to do with it- try adjusting your monitor's resolution to its native resolution.

Just keep on maximizing it and use it as normal. It should learn to open itself like that.
