That God ask for faith first; and evidence comes later

faith first;prosperity later
faith first;mysteries of the universe later
faith first;what you want later
Obey God's commandments first;Give you what you want later

Hebrew 11:6-But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Matthew 6:33-But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Remember, we(intelligent life) are subject to God;not God to us.

Again, why does the concept of faith first seem to offend ya'll?

Note:Faith is not the lack of logic;but through faith & humility it extends logic so we can understand what we cant easily percieve with our natural senses.

Quoting from the bible as if non-christians would accept it as the truth shows your utter lack of understanding of logic.

And your avatar's giant earrings don't match.

Why should anyone believe in anything without proof. I don't believe that I can fly. I don't believe in santa. I don't believe in Ms. Cleo.
Achems Razor says that given any situation, the simplest logical solution is the appropriate one to support as accurate. He uses different words, but it's the same concept. There are logical reasons, without bringing in some supernatural being, for anything that has happened to have happened. Why add an unnecessary extra factor? Why believe in something that only has an ancient book to support it?
God is man's word for that which cannot be explained. In time, we will find explanations, just like we explained the sun, the tides, and electricity. I'm ok with a little uncertainty. I'm not ok with delusion. And it is offensive to have a christian expect me to be stupid enough to change my enture life for a delusion.

Well its a matter of personal opinion i guess.

But your totally right about that whole faith before fact thing.

When i was little a accepted Jesus without any fact... but now that i'm older i have over loads of fact. I KNOW with out a doubt that God is real, and i'm soooo happy i took the first step of faith.
I mean like theres the proof that only i will ever know and belive thanks to the visions i've seen and prophetic dreams i've had, but then theres also the facts like ancient Biblical cities that have a layer of burnt stone around them like in Joshua when they burned this city, wheels of chariots in the Red sea.. the whole problem with the space launch and space actually missing 2 whole days thanks to When GOd helped joshua defeat their enemy's by keeping the sun in the sky extra long, and when Hezakiah asked for the shadows to go back which .. all in all these things added to 2 days being missed in time.

But even before i heard these things i knew my God was real thanks to the little things he has revealed to me through my life.

Thank God.

i am a devout christian, but i struggle with my faith. now, you may debate that this makes me less devout, but i think it helps me discoever my faith.

the reverend at my church says that religion is composed of three things: faith, action, and belief. faith and belief are closely related, but still have some differences. a famous bible verse says, "faith without action is dead." but i think that action without belief is dead as well.

religion needs a balance of these three components in order to "real". as you may note, evidence is not up with them. however, i feel that it is very hard to have faith and it is hard to believe without evidence. this is where action comes in to play. action replaces evidence. action is something you can hold, which is why it is equal to evidence.

why is all this relevant? the only reason why people are offended by lack of evidence is because they have a dead faith. if the replace "evidence" with action, they would no longer be offended.

well it gets annoying when people such as yourself only know how to answer a question by saying the things that you're saying or when people say because that's the way it is or because god said so it's like you people can't answer a question without mentioning god it's like you use god for reason logic and commonsense and it's annoying what's offensive is when people like you think that they are better then everybody else when you're not we're all human beings

Have complete faith that my million dollar cure for cancer works, and it will! Or do you want some proof first? Whatever would you need proof for?

Faith does offend me - since I spent my life looking for answers. Answers with justification. And people come along telling me to just believe in what they say with no proof. That's offensive.

It's not that we find it offensive. It's that we don't think it makes any sense. Sometimes the comment "just have faith" sounds like a cop out used by people who don't have any answers.

Happy New Year

I don't think it's offensive, I think people just don't want to have faith in the wrong thing and how would they know that was the right thing over others if there's no proof?

the bible doesn't say you have to have faith before proof, just that you have to have faith. Maybe if people didn't blindly believe what their religious leaders told them, but question what they are beingtold to believe, the world would be in a better place.

Do you actually have a question, or did you just want to use YA as a soap box from which to preach?

What I find offensive (or rather - annoying) is the endless proselytizing. I don't care what YOU want to believe as long as you keep your beliefs to yourself and quit trying to convert me to them.
