The first and important rule in getting married is this THE BRIDE IS ALWAYS RIGHT! Honey, a 2 1/2 year old is the perfect age for ring bearer, and you can have someone escorted him down the aisle if need be. Flower girls are just an extra for a wedding, it's not necessary. The groom doesn't have to have a best man, but it usual that he has someone stand beside him. If it's his father or brother that would be just fine. If you don't want groommen and bridesmaid that's ok too. My daughter wanted to get married barefooted, but she had to walk on a brick walkway and it so rough, she opted for a pair of slippers.
My daughter shocked a lot of people by having the family dog as ring bearer. The flower girl was her new sister-in-law who was 13 at the time. She wore a dress the color of the bridesmaids and a little tiara, she was precious. We had a big bbq after the cermoney. Just what they wanted to make their day perfect.
Sweetie, it's YOUR wedding day, and it should be the most happiest day of your life so far. You should feel like a princess and to do that you should have what you want. If you want to marry in a pink and purple dress with clowns, if that make you feel "special and beautiful" then do so. June weddings outside are beautiful with all the flowers and the green grass, so take advantage of going barefooted. I think it would truely lovely.
Best wishes and prayers for the most perfect and special wedding for you and your love. Many many happy years!
God bless us all...........

1. Two and half might be a little young. But there is nothing wrong with someone walking next to him.
2. You don't have to have a flower girl, I didn't have a flower girl or a ring bearer.
3. I think if there is a maid of honor, the groom should have best man.
4. I didn't wear shoes at my wedding, it was outside in Hawaii. My bridesmaids didn't wear them either. Even though we had shoes for the pictures.

1. Yes, that's very young but if you don't mind risking that the child will not want to walk, or will cry, etc., it's OK. If it's an informal wedding, and everyone knows what to expect from a tiny child, then it's fine. If it's a formal wedding, I wouldn't recommend having a child that young have any role in the ceremony.
2. No. You don't "have" to have anyone.
3. No. But it's customary. You do need someone to sign the wedding license as a witness (at least in my state) and usually that is the best man for the groom. If you are facing a situation where choosing between a brother and a best friend, say, is going to cause hard feelings, well then no, you don't have to at all.
4. The no-shoe look is a bit trashy, yes. This is one day in your life and you want to look elegant. Buy some beautiful shoes.
Congratulations, and good luck!

1. No 2 and 1/2 is not too young. Just don't really give him the rings. Give him a pillow and have him walk down the aisle. If he gets bored during the ceremony tell him he can go sit down in the front row with someone he is close to.
2. no you don't have to have a flower girl. Its your wedding its all up to you.
3. again no its your wedding its up to you. You can have 5 best men if you want to.
4. no i don't think its trashy. I think it will look summery. If the bride does it though I would have the whole wedding party do it or at least wear sandals.

1) Well, it's possible that the 2 1/2 year old ring bearer would be more mature than the 4 year old ring bearer that we had. I wanted his sister (Jr Bridesmaid) to walk him down the isle, but she walked down first. I didn't know this until I saw the video.
2) Ours was pretty much just useful for looking cute in the pictures. She kind-of ran down the isle and jumped in Daddy's lap.
3) You need someone to sign your marriage license as witnesses. This is usually the Maid of Honor and Best Man's job. If you want to have two groomsmen or two bridesmaids do that, this would also work. My brother is having our mother and her father sign as witnesses. They're not having a wedding party because they've both stood up in too many weddings and they don't know where to "cut it off."
4) I got married with shorts and slippers under my gown. Whatever makes you comfortable. I am not about to be uncomfortable in the name of "beauty" ANY day of my life!
Bottom line: It's YOUR wedding. Do things YOUR way!

1- no that is not too young just make sure he is not going to get "bored".. Find something he can be quietly doing while he is waiting for his "duties"
2-no you do not have to have a flower girl. It is your wedding and you can plan it anyway you would like.
3-the groom does not have to have a best man
4-for an outside wedding in June I would think it would be just fine to not wear shoes.. Just have your toenails painted really nice and noone will care.

I've seen ring bearers younger than 2 just make a game out of walking down the isle give him a small piece of candy after you practice a few times. you don't need a flower girl but they are cute. He doesn't need a best man no, if you want one just ask one of your friends or your brother to stand up with him. If your wedding is outside have fun with it you don't need shoes In the movies you see lots of weddings on the beach or in a vineyard with no shoes

1- all three of my kids got to be in weddings when they were 2:) You can't expect to terribly much, and it is wise to plan to have someone walk with them but it is very cute.
2 - no, you don't have to have a flower girl
3 - no, you don't have to have a best man
4 - maybe a little, plan on at least a nice pair of white flip flops in case the ground is a little muddy.
