I am now reading Stark. And is is raising certain questions.
Just how long to we have left?
Is there anything left that we can do to stop the destruction of the human race?
Why do although we know the implications now of our actions are emmissions still not cut down, and aerosols still legal?
I mean why are people still acting ignorant??

There's no conclusive answer. As far as the sun goes, we've got millions of years.

Bottom line, the world's population continues to grow at a phemonenal rate. If it begins to slow significantly soon, better use of resources, new technology and a global mindset should mean we can continue to exist comfortably on the planet before colonization of the galaxy begins.

But if the population continues to swell unchecked, and developing countries try to achieve the same sort of lifestyle the U.S. enjoys, there will be wars over water and land.

We are at the crossroads. Some people are ignorant out of choice. Others because they've never sought the kind of education that lifts them out of the darkness. And I'm not talking formal education. I'm talking about getting to know your library and how to do research on the web.

People with concerns should join groups that get them together with others who can exchange information.

We have a wonderfully giving planet, but we don't take care of it very well considering it is our home.

Don't worry about nature, global warming and nature are the least of the human races problems. Within 20 years, we will reach something called "Peak Oil" This is when half of all the oil has been used up. The demand for oil will increase and the amount of available oil will decrease, prices will skyrocket, economies will collapse, wars will be fought, big, possibly nuclear wars. Global hunger and thirst. Desease will be rampant, Africa will all but die out. 100reds of millions of people will die, if not billions. Anarchy will prevail as powerless governments are toppled. Before you go on about alternative fuels, just remeber that nothing to date has the energy output of oil, and in fact alternative energy use oil, they are not so much alternative as derivitives of oil. The entire world economy is driven by oil, when you go to the grocery store, everything you buy travels an average of 1500 miles before you buy it. Every computer, plastic product, tire, vehicle, lamanate, fertalizer, airplanes, solar panels etc, etc, etc, etc. EVERYTHING, is dependent on OIL. It will take 150 years to use the first half (exploited and put into useful production in 1859) and 25 years to use the second half. After 4 or 5 generations of pure hell on earth, maybe we will be able to crawl back to some form of structured society. You know GWB Texas ranch is a Environmentalists wet dream!! Why do you think?? The threat of global warming is a ruse to take peoples minds away from the REAL THREAT!! Good Luck, especially city dwellers.

Well until the andromeda galaxy collides with the milky way, which happens in like 4 billion years I think. Earth will be uninhabitable in 1 billion years, but we'll definately be on other planets by then. Who knows, maybe we'll be in other galaxies by the time andromeda smacks the milky way. Humans could exist forever.

The Yanks have about a century left, century and a half at best, the rest of the world has 2 century's, as soon as the US attacks China, CIS/Russia or the British Empire with it's war of terror, World War 4 will destroy the world in a nuclear hollocaust.

to give you a social answer. (which means global warming won't kill us)
The 3 things that will bring down the human race.
1) Global COOLING - The lack to support the global population
2) Disease - New uncurable viruses and such.
3) War - Fighting over the remaining usable resources.

Yes my global teacher will be proud of me....

Someone just asked a very similar question. I'll paste my answer from that one here:

Anywhere between 30 and 10^(large number) of years.

Check out this site: it kicks.

I would tend to lean more towards 30.

If you believe in Sylvia Brown she cant see past 95 years. She can't explain why. She doesn't know if it is, because the earth ends or that her powers just doesn't go past that point.
