Specifically in the Salem, Oregon area. But just in general it is good to know as well. Is there more I need to know? I don't really know anything about kegs at all.

you mean like thomas kemper? that comes in a 5 gallon cola type can. all the rest are usually just syrup in foil bladders in a cardboard box. prolly only one t. kemper distributor in your town. first beverage distributor you call will tell you who distributes kemper. you'll need a tap as well.
best way to go if you want a keg is call around, find out which tavern does keg sales. they can hook you up and will have the tap available for a deposit.

I would ask at the Grocery Store, just talk to the Manager. Sometime you have to talk to distrubitors from the companys too.
