We are all sinners, just some of us are redeemed.
Those that are sent to hell had the same choice as we to be redeemed. They just made the wrong choice. But it is a choice they made until their dying day. They could have changed it on their death bed if they had truly desired to do so.

Supposedly, the purpose of Hell, is to teach the sinner the error of his /her ways...but forever. The idea was not that the sinner would be helped, but that others would learn from the afterlife suffering of sinners who have gone before us in the hope that we would not be inclined to imitate them and end up spending an eternity wishing we had been better people. Live your life as if you knew you were going to meet God tomorrow. because our packaging doesn't come with a guarantee...and we just might.
Happy New Year!

I believe that hell is actually a holding place for Satan. In Revelation, it says God will release Satan and let him roam the earth for a short time. I dont think that Hell is where God is sending sinners to be punished; it never says that's the sinner's punishment in the Bible. People just assume that. I believe that non-believers will be forced to roam the earth for eternity while believers live forever with God in Heaven.

The purpose of hell (and hell is everywhere it needs to be, here and hereafter)is to waken the sinner and force him to eradicate sin from his consciousness. When the love of sin is over, and the last farthing is paid, there is no longer a need for hell. After all, God rules infinite heaven with spiritual ideas of His, and there is no place in Him for hell. Why would He waste His time anyway (not that He is subject to time, but you get the idea)?

Hell is Gods justice for those who have done evil. Bad criminals get the death penalty. Sinners go to hell. It will only do a sinner good if it changes him before he gets there.

The concept of hell is one interpretation of an afterlife experience which may be universal. The details of the experience change depending on your cultural/religious background but the root experience from which our beliefs about the afterlife arise may be the same for everyone. It's just that we can only perceive the experience in terms of our beliefs and expectations so people of different backgrounds will interpret the experience differently.
We all carry some pain and bad feelings or thoughts about ourselves and hell is the part of our afterlife where we resolve those feelings and forgive ourselves and heal so that we may once more love ourselves unconditionally.

There is no purpose in Hell. That's the point and that's partly what makes it Hell. Everyone, as long as they are living, in the very smallest part of their being even, has a certain amount of Hope. Hope that this isn't all there is to life and that possibly life can go on with an amount of dignity in a better place. Death and Hell remove all of that when Jesus isn't part of your make up. There is finally no hope and you know there is no hope because you are eternally separated from God.

Consider it a mercy from God where those who want to separate from God go to a place of darkness where they can hide from His light. Why would they want to hide ? Because the Light shows up all their sins as hideous and ugly. Does the Bible mention this ? Jesus calls it the place of outer darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth against God.
John 3:19 And this is the verdict, that the light came into the world, but people PREFERRED DARKNESS TO LIGHT, because their works were evil.
For everyone who does wicked things HATES THE LIGHT AND DOES NOT COME TOWARD THE LIGHT, SO THAT HIS WORKS MIGHT NOT BE EXPOSED.
But whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God.
IS THIS NOT REALLY THE CASE ?
"And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not" (John 1:5).

People go to hell because they deny Jesus as there lord and savior not because there sinners Christians are sinners also but they are forgiven because what Jesus did on the cross If people went to hell because they are sinners everybody would go to hell. Hell was intended for the devil and demons not people. Will it do any good for people to deny Jesus as there lord and savior.

Actually, I believe you create a hell for yourself. I also believe that Christianity has been twisted from it's original form. Hell may or may not be real. But I do think Jesus will reappear on earth very soon. I hope this helps!
