There are plenty of things you can do without money. Like I don't know.... spend time with your dad. Try being a little less selfish. Money isn't everything.

It's a tough one. Like you and sis must have some fun things you do when you're not at dad's, right? Bring along anything from home and invite dad to learn something new. Challenge him. Or possibly you all could go on a hike (it's free) or to the local library (it's often got freebies there) or play some game like Monopoly together. If you're just gonna sit in front of his TV, no wonder you get bored. Not every dad is able to express how he really loves you guys, but you can help him learn--engage him in meaningful conversations and you may find out things about your dad that will make you quite proud. And he'll get to know how you're adjusting to the situation as well. I hope you honestly DO KNOW that you and your sister are in no way, shape or form responsible for the break in family relations. But you really ought to try harder to make your time with dad a happy thing and don't be blaming him about $--if he had it, you'd be getting it somehow. The important thing is that you and he don't lose contact with each other. No matter why your family is split up, you and your sister can make a rotten situation better by being less judgmental and more open to being kind to each other. Family matters even if it is fractured.

You again or the kids? Same username for the same type questions. Anyway, if you ARE the kids, stop acting like spoiled brats!!! If you need material possessions to make you happy at 8 & 9 what are you going to be like as teens or adults? If "mom's" is so great 'cause you have "stuff to do" Take your favorite games, toys, videos, etc. to Dad's house & leave them there. Then you'll have fun visiting w/Dad. Of course being occupied w/your stuff, you get to miss out on QUALITY TIME with your Dad. How do think he feels knowing you only care for people w/money? BTW DAD's support payments help pay for all your "stuff" at home. Have Mom give you money to take Dad out for fastfood. Get an allowance? Spend YOUR money to rent videos, buy junk food, toys...Guarantee you won't be so quick to empty your wallet, like you expect your Dad to do!! Parents are so much more than the size of their bank accounts.

why don't you bring something with you to do. like a book? or maybe some games? or for heaven's sake your homework. ok so your off now on vacation, but certainly there is something school related you could be doing to further your education. trust me lots of people have no money and they get along just fine. maybe you could even do some yard work at your dad's neighbors to earn some $$

Money isn't every thing. You and your sister should respect your dad, he is probably working his butt off paying child support to your mom and doesn't have any extra cash lefted over from that. You dad loves you enough to want to spend time with you, that should be enough, not all kids are that lucky.

you shouldn't need money to go to your dads house, maybe if you guys brought stuff with you when you went there such as games, dvds/videos, a tv even, that would make it more fun...you should enjoy the time you get to spend with him because i'm sure he's always happy to see you guys and deal with being bored but instead worry about trying to make your dad happy!

You and your sister should think up some fun things to do that don't require money. Window shopping, parks and hiking, museums, city walks, country walks, board games can really be fun. Start developing a generous heart.

Spend time with your dad. Play games. It shouldn't matter that he doesn't have money. You should be glad that your dad loves you and is part of your lives. A lot of dads don't even bother to see their kids.

If only I had a Dad who wanted me to visit or otherwise. You are blessed, but don't know it. Maybe with age and maturity you will.
P.S. Play cards and board game, or just talk to your Dad about what it was like when he was a kid. How about asking him about his Dad - your Grandpa.
