hey man, not to hurt your feelings, but i'm 6'2 and 175 lb's, so you probably need to lose a little weight. But you cant really point out and say how many miles you should be able to run because there are a lot of factors that go into (body size, figure, form, hydration, etc.) Just work at it, take it one mile at a time. Iff you cant run a mile, just run until you cant take anymore, then walk until you've cooled down then run some more.

You should be able to run a decent mile at least. When I was 17, I was a little taller than you and the same weight and I ran cross country (3.1 miles... not that I was especially good). Of course, there are other factors:
1. shin splints will limit your abilities.
2. Asthma may limit what days you can train (although I've read blogs of guys with asthma running marathons).
3. A heart condition could stop you dead in your tracks... so to speak.

So if you've got a clean bill of health, I would suspect you can run just as far as your pain tolerance will allow. At 17, your body has incredible regenerative powers... but the first few weeks may still hurt like hell.

A young 4 year old in India ran 40 miles. I ran 10 at 17. But, pending on your health and if ever around cig smoke. If clear of childhood second hand smoke and clear of mary-j and cig smoke first hand then I'd say if your in shape you can do 10+ easy. If not in shape and not ran in years then, you'ld be good on about a mile or 2.

well, you seem pretty big but its not a matter of how many miles you can run its how fast. So you should be able to run a mile in under 12 minutes, if you cant you should get in shape for your own health's sake.

it doesnt matter how old you are, it matters what kind of shape your in.. 5'9 180 sounds like you need to lose some. the key to running for distance is keeping a steady pace. i say you should be able to run 2.5 miles at LEAST

If you are just starting and haven't really run before, you could probably run at least 1, if not more. If you have a lot of heart and determination, you could run a marathon if you wanted to.
