Spend more time with this guy. Once you do that, then you'll feel less weird.

The feeling is normal because you don't know much about the guy.

OK ur 14 so remember the first 2 weeks of school how all those new faces at school on the bus or cafeteria felt weird, but now the year half over its all just another day? you go on about your day no weird feelings.....well **same thing** and hey congratz on checking out this guy most teens don't care if their mom gets a good guy or not, they just rather their mom stay alone, as if she was frozen from feeling lonely and deprived of a good bf or husband to grow old with =]

Mom has the same yearnings for a good relationship as you. For whatever reason she has been concentrating her efforts on raising you...now she wants to spend some time for herself. Honor her wishes. What would your reaction be if one of your friends told you this story? Personally, I say "Hurray for Mom". So should you. One of these days you will be leaving the nest and Mom will want a companion. Support her.

She deserves a life too! While it is understandable that you find it weird, at least you like this guy!!! Give it time, it will all be okay.
