It doesnt matter how much proof Christians give you becuase you wont believe right?

Matthew 13:15-For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Mark 4:12-seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

Christians have given you more than enough "proof" & "evidence" for ya'll to know that there is a God and His name is Jesus.

Until ya'll start to have faith you will always be in the dark.

We could give ya'll enough evidence to fill the titanic;ya'll still would refuse to believe right? Why?

If you are trying to convert or even antagonize atheists, you're going about it the wrong way. The evidence and proof an atheist requires cannot be found in a book of stories --to atheists, all stories are potentially questionable unless validated with evidence. The proof, instead, needs to be found in the objective reality of measurable quantities. Until you understand why that is, you can't hope to convert or even really get under the skin of any. Your words are essentially as ineffective to them as someone quoting Star Trek to try to convert you to Klingonism.

Maurice, if you want to proof that a book is telling the truth, you should not use phrases from the book as a proof. Of course the book sais that what is in the book is true.

For example, If I wrote the story of little red riding hood and wrote in the story that it really happened, you still would not believe that the story really happened, would you?

There is probably no proof that the bible is true. The only proof is in that you experience God's presence if you start living with Him - which is quite different than living according to His rules, which is living with a law-book!

I'm Dutch, so I don't really know the English words Jesus uses when he urges to try living with God. Jesus says that if you try living with God, you will know if He is speaking the truth or not. So if you don't know it after a while, you sure do know that that part is untrue. If you know after a while, then you know if it is the truth.

So the only thing people can do is try living with the Lord, and you'll experience if He is the Lord you think He is and know if you want to serve Him.

Happy 2007

Well, I will answer you completely, but you will need to use ENGLISH. But I want proof, I want Jesus to stand up right in front of me and walk on some water and "turn it into wine."
Do I believe that he might have existed? Yes, but I am a girl about facts. I have higher morals than most Christians I know. So I find you don't need a higher lord to fullfill a life, and the evidence to fill the Titanic... Really? to bad the Titanic is a rotten mess on the bottom of the ocean, I must say. Get some better examples...

No one has ever given me compelling evidence as to the existence of god. I have never seen god swoop down from the heavens, never had him whisper in my ear, never been shown the true perfection of the bible, and rather, I have seen far too many things that contradict the bible, and the bible is contradictory within its own pages.

What I have been told about Christianity would only be convincing were evidence supplied along with the fabulous tales. What evidences do you posses that you think should make me believe? Any at all?

Give me an evidence that the bible is indeed the silly book you freaking believers think it is...How do you know that the book is not written by the most intelligent mortal of that time to fool the minds of creatures like you??

tell me that...tell me that you people actually can blindly believe something that you have never ever seen EVER to be actually real... how stupid can you be?? seriously? and how can you be so confident with your beliefs when all you have to show as proof are words from some book that can easily be made into a rather unique novel..

seriously, you morons!! for all i know you're the one who is in darkness... too blind to see that you have been tricked by the smart words of an ancient man...

No believer has ever given us ANY proof. All they've said is something like 'once you believe you'll get proof'. Well, I'm not willing to get a frontal lobotomy.

Please, give us one piece of evidence that can be shown happened that can't have happened unless there was a god. Just one. And the big bang doesn't count, since there are natural theories for it that need to be tested - theories that don't need god.

History my dear boy, history. Real, Provable, Documented in Many Places, not just one book, history.

1AD - circa 100 AD: Christianity did not exist Paganism was the dominant religion.

circa101 AD - circa 700 AD. Christianity was a new emerging cult that was looked askance at by most people - Hebrew and Pagan alike.

700 AD: Coucil of Nicea VOTED on which books to include in the Bible and which to exclude. The ones excluded were written by followers of God and Jesus just as faithful as those that were chosen to be included. However, the "Old White Men in Robes" as I like to call them, VOTED against the books that did not fall into line with their idea of what Christianity should be. The Divinity of Jesus was also VOTED on - meaning that for the last 700 years he was just a man. Now all of a sudden he is the Divine Child of God.

There is a reason Christians call themselves sheep, you know. Because they all believe, without question, what they are told to believe; and do, without question, what they are told to do. This has fostered the incredible amount of irresponsibility in society today.

I have plenty of faith - I am clergy in my chosen religion. There are no sheep in the Old Religion. We are responsible for our lives.

Islandgirl - I know many people who are very spiritual, myself included. Christians don't have the market cornered on Spirituality.

I appreciate your sincerity.
You mentioned the word 'PROOF'. Proof constitutes a thoroughly researched premise which itself has been proven as 'true'.
What you are referring to as 'proof' are words that have been written by humans, translated by humans and edited by humans.
If I write a book that says "my dog is the best in the world" and then advertise it for 2,000 years, some people will eventually believe what I wrote. This is not, however 'proof'.
There IS proof that some of the writings in the bible have been mistranslated or plain edited by people who wanted them read as they are read now.
Moreover, the bible did not fall from heaven in a package, but is a collection of writings that were carefully chosen by HUMANS in order to form a text reference used to create faithful church-goers.
Please, I mean no insult to you, but if you state something as 'proof', at least study, with an open and logical mind, how this 'proof' was created.

The only proof Christians give is their bible or the words "Look around you". I hate to burst your bubble but thats not proof.

I can say "I think I have a cold" but thats not proof. Whats proof is going to the doctor and finding out you have Bronchitis instead and that, if you hadn't gone to the doctor, you'd probably also get pneumonia and be hospitalized.

See, going to the doctor so he could do tests is something called "proof".

Sorry man but quoting the Bible proves Christianity as much as the Gospel of the FSM proves Pastafarianism. People would believe you if you had actually proof rather than a two thousand year old piece of fiction.
