No they are doing the persecuting. Like homosexuals for example. What someone does and with whom is not their business. This is not a theocracy.

The bible does say that at the end of times believers in Jesus Christ will be persecuted. And while we do not see 'much' persecution in the states, it does go on in other parts of the world. It does seem like most of the non-believers are against Christians, they have already tried to wipe out Christmas because it is associated with Christ. Every where you go, people say Happy Holidays, Happy Hanukkah and everything else. But, it is considered politically incorrect to Merry Christmas. This is just an example. So, no we may not be being 'persecuted' in the sense that we are getting killed and beaten up for our beliefs, but we are certainly getting less and less welcomed and more and more disrespected. The end is nigh and it will not be long before we are persecuted. Who knows when the Anti-Christ will rise to power. Christ be with you, Cat

I am truly saved! Thank GOD! My faith is not a religion it is what I believe. Many people will call me ignorant and that's ok. I choose to believe in God and will not insult those who choose not to. Have I doubted my salvation-yes. But only when I am living my life for myself and not God. (Again people will say I am ignorant for that statement-and that's ok) But I rather go through life believing in something then believing that everything in this world just happened. And if I am wrong then I have lost nothing. FYI-I also believe that if you truly believed and asked God to save you that has not changed. Getting free of religion is what most Christians need to do. I have a relationship with God not a religion.

I agree to a certain point. I think what they are trying to say is that we know not everyone is going to accept what we believe and be totally intolerant and offensive about it. To me, it's like being offended b/c a retarded person calls me fat. They don't know any better so why get mad?
However, you have to admit there is a lot more Chrisitan bashing out there than most other religions, (perhaps b/c there are more of us) and not to mention that some Christians don't represent well. It gets frustrating.
And now, most people complain that religion is the root of all the problems in the world. Sounds a lot like "hey, Germany, the Jews are the reason for your problems". Sorry if it sounds like whining when we want to speak up about that stuff, but we just don't want to start wearing crosses on our clothes before we get marched to the gas chambers. Yeah, I'm sure some of the Jews in Nazi Germany thought it was far fetched at first too.

No we are not being persecuted. If you call the bad reactions and name calling when others are approached persecution, well that's nothing close to real persecution. We are not called names or talked to any worse than just regular people are if they step on toes.

Should we whine, no. Are we persecuted, yes. Although here in America our persecutions are nowhere near as extreme as depicted throughout the Bible, in many other countries it is not rare to see missionaries and their converts beaten, exiled, or even murdered. Also, go to school, open your Bible at the lunch table, and bow for a prayer. See the way people look at you and talk about you? It may not hurt anything more than your feelings, but that is a form of pesecution, none the less.

Humans are such that if anyone is of belief A in the land of belief B the Bists usually can find a bit of their holy writing that says anyone who is not a Bist is by default the devil or the equivalent. The punisment for being different has always been death, or at least getting everything you own justifiably stolen by the Bists.

A genuinely persecuted Christian is usually a better Christian. Western Christianity hasn't quite been the same since it was legalized, back in 312.

Just like any religion or culture it depends on where you live. In the US and most of the 'Western" world there is very little religious persecution on any grounds. However if you went to, say, Saudi Arabia or Pakastan or China you would find very different cirucmstances.

I have no doubt that people who happen to be Christians are persecuted in many parts of the world. The Christians on this board? Unlikely.

Christians who complain about being "persecuted" are usually engaged in persecuting everyone else, and getting slapped down for it. Maybe if Christians backed off a little, kept their faith to themselves and in their worship houses, and stopped yarking in our ("non-believers") faces, they'd have an easier time.
