Im a 22 year old male and i am a 2nd grade teacher. Is this a turn off? If you found this out about me, what would be your first reaction? I know its not the manliest career in the world but i love my job and look forward to work everyday. Is this considered gay or cute or what?

In my opinion, being a second grade teacher says that you are intelligent (you have a college degree), compassionate, understanding and patient. In fact, I would say that it IS a manly career. Any guy that pokes fun at your career probably works at McDonalds!

No that's not a turn off. You should be proud of what you do there is nothing wrong with having a love for children, somebody has to teach them. As long as you know that your a good teacher and that's what you love to do keep up the good work. Children are the teachers of tomorrow.

In my country, a lot of the teachers are men and we do not consider this as a strange thing!! Besides, it is a really good job with a good salary here and many girls would like to have a boyfriend who is teacher ;)

But beyond this, the most important is for you to love what you do and someone who will really love you will accept what you are and what you love to do!

i dont think its a turn off at all. I think what it comes down to is not what your career is or how much money you make (unless she is a gold digger) but your passion for your career. Obviously this excludes things such as hit man and pimps but i assume you get my point. :) a lot of women find different things attractive and from what i can tell of older women many would find the fact that you love children to be a huge turn on and a sign of commitment

I think it's cute. Personally, I'd be pretty impressed 'cause I work with 8, 9 and 10 year olds and they can be little brats to take care of! (I don't know how old 2nd graders are, I live in Scotland). But yeah, I'd think it was sweet. Not a turn off.

Hmmmm. I think the majority of women would find it a turn on since you work with kids. Personally, I would think twice about dating you when I found out your occupation. I just need a guy with a little bit more ambition and I don't want to be the one paying for everything all the time.

I dont think a career is either a turn off or turn on.. however it does make you good husband and father material.. at least in my book.. ya need alot of patience and understanding and love for children to take on the task of teaching at any grade but elementary children are even more so in my book. :)
Good luck.. :)

It's cute, you like it, and you're probably good at it. But you sound more like the kind of guy I'd become friends with. I prefer guys with office jobs.
