I wouldn't buy any vehicle without looking at it and driving it first. There is no good reason to do this, even brand new. In my opion you are just asking for problems.

It CAN be safe, but if you don't know enough about vehicles or buying and selling online, I'd say stick to conventional means of finding a vehicle.

Even the 'experts' have gotten burned with online purchases. With something that is going to cost you tens of thousands of dollars, if you can see it, touch it, or smell it, do take te risk buying it.

But it doesn't hurt to do your research on the net when you are wanting to purchase a vehicle. www.edmunds.com is a good place to start.

Hope this helps.

You need to be aware that their are scams associated with buying cars online sight unseen. Ebay is crawling with scammers with over payment and 2nd chance offer scams. Unless you can verify the person, dealer, or see the car, be careful. I know an intelligent medical doctor that got stung online for over $20,000 buying a car on a site in Canada.

DON'T DO IT!
I was looking for a 1997 supra for my husband's b-day and found one for $8,000. The man said his brother died and he needed the money for his funeral. All others Supras were $15,000. Stupid me believe his story and send him $2,000 western union to ship the car to me and we agree that I'llpay him the rest when I got the car. Guess what? He took off with my $2,000, never got anything, everything he sent me was fake (copy of tittle, his DL, pictures of the car, etc). I reported this to the police and never got a penny back. Where I found this scam? Carsdirect.com and all over yahoo.com same man same story

I personally would not do it. A car/truck is a sizeable investment, and buying it sight unseen is too much of a risk to me.Go for it, if it is for you.

I can't seem to figure out any way to test drive it or have it evaluated mechanically while it's on line.
