I fear Him, yes, as I know that the only way is thru Him, but I don't know if I "love". It saddens me to say this but I feel alone and abandoned, as though He doesn't hear me, or if He does, He hasn't sent any comfort my way. Have any of you ever felt this way? How do you get back to God's loving embrace? Thank you to all who respond with consideration.

I understand what you are going through, its the dark night of the soul.Just keep praying it will pass, tell God what you feel in your heart.Ask him to bring you comfort, you will be stronger after its done.Read the psalms they are a source of comfort to me,when I cannot feel his presence, truthfully I am in the same place as you are right now.All we can do is draw near to him.Despite how we feel, trusting in God I think is the ultimate in love towards him.We will both come out of this place.Be blessed and loved

Jesus said, speaking to His disciples, "If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love". Loving God is an act of obedience, not a feeling. It's more of a decision that we commit to than an experiential comfort. Jesus never promised that we'll "feel" loved (peace of God, yes) but He does promise that we can "abide" in His love. In our Hollywood culture we are so used to thinking about love as a feeling rather than an act, something that we choose to do.

Jesus asked Peter, "Do you love me? Then feed my sheep." Find something tangible that you can do for a Christian brother or sister today and I'll guarantee you'll be on the way to knowing that you're abiding in God's love again. It will take care of that lonely feeling at the same time.

The paradox of faith is that when we take an action to give when we ourselves are feeling lonely or empty, that's when we experience God's power by the Holy Spirit, and His love, joy and peace as well There's nothing like it that the world has to offer.

God Bless.

This morning the pastor at our church talked about waiting on the Lord. I think we all at one time feel abandoned or hear silence from our God. My pastor said that waiting in the bible took sometimes years to fulfill- Like Abraham and Sarah waiting for the birth of Isaac- took 25 years. There are many examples. Just because God seems silent now, do not think this is a sign of not loving you. Just remember the love He has for you. He sent His Son to die for you. NO GREATER LOVE THAN THIS huh? The question is not that we love him- it is that He loved us first. Just spend some time praying to Him and ask Him to reveal Himself to you in a very special way, He will. He will never leave or forsake you. Sometimes, as in my own life, it seems like He is silent, but again remember that He has not, and do now forget to look to Him. He has open arms ready to enfold you,

Good question. Most of us don't see or hear or touch God. Everything we think we "know" about God is hearsay. Even the preachers haven't seen or heard or touched God. We know that people that claim to be in touch with God may be imagining it or have an agenda to sell. Even the so-called "witnesses" have not witnessed God.

How do you love God under these circumstances? I don't and I'm not sure that anybody really can.

God does love you. Because you doubt this doesn't mean God doesn't love you. When I feel this way, I like to sit in a quiet room and just pray, tell Him how I feel, and read a few scripture verse, from the Psalms. Jesus , promised to never leave you and to be with you always. He promised even if your father or mother forsake you that He would not. Trust in His promises child of God.

You start by touching God just a little bit in your heart, and love begins to grow. You find everything you will ever need in His truth. How could you not love a God who cares for you for eternity and will never allow evil to be a part of your consciousness, once your earthly duties have been fulfilled?

Read the Book of John in the Bible. Jesus showed the greatest love anyone could ever show. I can love Him knowing that He died for me, a wicked, undeserving sinner. He elected me to be with Him in Heaven someday. What could make you love Him more than that?
Or read Luke 2. Christ, almight God, came down to earth as a lowly man, and was born in a manger with only cloths. He humbled Himself. We should love Him because He cared enough to die for men.

With your whole heart, mind and soul. God is a God of love. Remember he died for all our sins. If that not love what is it.

Your question is How do you get back to God's loving embrace? By study his Word and getting a close relationship with him.

GOD BLESS!!!

Yes, by faith.

One good way to feel the love of God is go soul winning.
Start spreading the Gospel and it won't be long you will feel the love of God. Just start shouting the glory of God.
