I think boys like them because cheerleaders are popular and if you go out with a cheerleader you are most likely to become popular. Its not a bad thing to like someone pretty and with a good body but it just shoves all the other people out of the way for someone to like them. I would bet if I had a better body and prettier looks I would consider being a cheerleader. I just wouldnt want to be the stuck up peppy ones so....444

i think its a fantasy thing
only, i find that it has the opposite oeffect also. i was a cheerleader in highschool and people always thought I was a slut or something. People who didn't know I was a cheerleader were always shocked when they found out I was (I watch anime and play computer games... nerd!!!!). So the stereotype of slut tagged on I think gave some guys negative view on the cheerleaders on the squad. The guys who like cheerleaders are usually sex crazed creeps, so if ur not a cheerleader its good because they steer the creeps away from you. Unfortunately, my cheermates often fit the stereotype.
I ended up with a nerdy boyfriend for a long time in high school. I think he thought it was cool that he was dating a cheerleader (in fact all his friends were really impressed with his 'catch'). None of them thought he would ever actually get to date me. I guess there is a bit of a stereotype that cheerleaders are unobtainable.

Cheerleaders are a lot like television or movie actors. They perform for people during breaks in a game and have a large audience. Cheerleaders like to be popular or they wouldn't display their talent to many people. They're chosen as cheerleaders after having tried out for it, and determined worthy by someone who thinks they can learn the teams cheers. So, in one way they're popular (people are attracted to others who do things well) so they're a cheerleader, but also being a cheerleader makes them more popular because of a greater audience. Sometimes a reputation is a stereo-type, like the one sometimes associated with cheerleaders being smutty. They certainly don't need to be, but it stands to reason that a person who is smutty would like to advertise themselves in a flashy way; but it's not true for every cheerleader, while the one that boys like cheerleaders so much is it just seems that way while they'd be attracted to any person who does something well. Cheerleaders just get a lot of free advertising with gosip and are in the lights for everyone to notice so of course boys will notice.

lol because of the unobtainable factor. i particulary dont like cheerleaders anymore then the next gurl but i do appriciate beauty. so if you have a good personality 444 but if not then o well.

I`m a cheerleader too,i think it`s because of what we wear and how we look plus they want to be popular. i`m not really sure
